    The 2015 Stage48 Member Ranking
The time to rank our favorite members for the past year has come once again! Last year was a tumultuous year in many respects, what with it being the 10th Anniversary of AKB48 and all. Sasshi retook the crown from Mayuyu in the sousenkyo, perpetuating the idea that no one can be Queen twice in a row. Takamina, our long time general manager, was supposed to graduate, but hasn't due to management shenanigans. With the addition of a two brand new groups, the playing field is more crowded than ever, so let's see what you thought of all the members in 2015! Note that you should only take events from 2015 into account for this ranking. Anything that happened in 2016 shouldn't influence your decisions.

For those new to this, this event works by consolidating the personal member rankings of everyone that decides to participate to find who our most popular members in the 48 and 46 Groups are. You will need to rank your favorite members, so get working on your Top 20!

This is a point system with your oshimen getting 15 points, your 2-oshi getting 10 points, and so on. I will then add up all the points each member got from ALL people who voted on the forum and rank them in order, all the several hundreds of them.
    Code:
    01. MEMBER NAME (+15)
    02. MEMBER NAME (+10)
    03. MEMBER NAME (+9)
    04. MEMBER NAME (+8)
    05. MEMBER NAME (+7)
    06. MEMBER NAME (+6)
    07. MEMBER NAME (+5)
    08. MEMBER NAME (+5)
    09. MEMBER NAME (+4)
    10. MEMBER NAME (+4)
    11. MEMBER NAME (+4)
    12. MEMBER NAME (+3)
    13. MEMBER NAME (+3)
    14. MEMBER NAME (+3)
    15. MEMBER NAME (+2)
    16. MEMBER NAME (+2)
    17. MEMBER NAME (+2)
    18. MEMBER NAME (+1)
    19. MEMBER NAME (+1)
    20. MEMBER NAME (+1)
You can also give negative points to up to 5 members. These negative points are completely optional and you can submit any number from 0 to 5, with the member you dislike the most getting -5 points. If you only give negative points to one member, that will be -5 points, if you have two members you dislike they will be -5 and -4 and so on. I want to stress that these should be used only if you really have a personal reason for disliking a member, not just because they're at the bottom of your ranking or because of some management decision completely out of their hands, like the kennin system or something.
    Code:
    01. MEMBER NAME (-5)
    02. MEMBER NAME (-4)
    03. MEMBER NAME (-3)
    04. MEMBER NAME (-2)
    05. MEMBER NAME (-1)
The biggest difference this year is that @foodlfg has written a program to assist me in counting votes. Assuming everything goes smoothly, the results will be out much sooner than usual since I won't have to manually count each point value by hand anymore, so go thank foodlfg, everyone! At the same time, I'm still looking at each ranking personally, checking to make sure the ranking follows the rules, was submitted by someone eligible, etc, so with this mix of automating and personal oversight, we're confident we can bring you the same high quality results as in previous years, just faster.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Voting Period
    March 18, 2016, 12 am (PDT) - April 1, 2016, 12 am (PDT)
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Rules/Directions
    1. All members with 70 posts and above can participate. This post requirement is in place to prevent people from making multiple accounts to vote (we can track that anyways) but also to make sure the people voting are actively involved in the fan community and know the members of the 48 Group well. Ideally, if you're giving members points, there was some facet of her personality that you liked, and you would've liked to discuss on our forums to learn more about her before you decided to support her. If you do not have 70 posts yet, there is still time until the deadline. Don't spam the forums to get 70 posts though, those posts will be deleted.

Anyone caught using multiple accounts will have all their accounts temporarily banned as well as a permanent warning issued to both accounts, unremovable by anyone except staff. Even if you have multiple accounts, don't use them to cheat this.

    2. Send me a private message (PM) with the two above forms with the point values assigned to each member. You can do so by clicking my username to the left and then "Start a New Conversation." The list of eligible members is listed below in the 2nd post which includes all members that were active at some point in 2015. Use full names, first and last! I may or may not know the nickname of some girls, and some members share the same first name, so send me them exactly as written in the 2nd post.

    3. Once I have received your votes, I will add them to the program I am using to count votes, and your name will appear in this OP. If you send it to me and you don't see your name yet, don't panic, it simply means I haven't gotten to it yet. All votes received before the end of the voting period will be counted.

    4. Do not reveal your rankings until the whole contest is over. It's more interesting to see final results without knowing what everyone voted for.

    5. You must use all 20 spots. There's 600+ girls, I'm sure you can pick 20 you like. Negative votes, however, are optional.

    6. Doublecheck your ranking before sending it to me, making sure you didn't accidentally give two people the same spot or give the same member two different values. Last year I had to spend way too much time contacting people to fix their ranking and waiting for them to respond. If you copy and paste the format in this post, you'll be fine.

    7. Members with three or more warnings on their accounts from 2015 will have their entry disqualified.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For examples, please see last year's thread and results. Please represent your oshimen and other favorites and vote! Anything can happen in these rankings; last year we all thought Takamina would win for a 5th year straight, but then she ended up clobbered by Paruru from behind [hehe] Every point counts!

Results will be revealed over a period of days just like the past years to make it more exciting. The timetable will be posted once the results are in and I know how many girls ranked and how many remained out of ranking. Even with the new program, don't bother me for when they'll be out. They'll be out ASAP when I'm done counting.

Any questions or comments, leave them here and feel free to start the discussion!

Special thanks again to @DreamingPebbles who helped compile the whole list of active members in 2015. Without him I don't know how much longer it would've taken me to get this forum-wide ranking off the ground.

    FAQs/Notes

    1. How do I indicate which Yokoyama Yui or Sato Shiori I want to give points to?

If you only put Yokoyama Yui, I'm going to assume you're voting for our soukantoku. If you want to vote for Team 8's Yokoyama Yui, please put Yokoyama Yui (Team 8).

Similarly, if you only put Sato Shiori, I'm assuming you're voting for Keyakizaka46's Sato Shiori. If you want to vote for Team 8's Sato Shiori, please put Sato Shiori (Team 8).

    2. Do I have to include the point values next to each member when I submit my list?

Yes. It just makes it easier to eye when I'm looking at the ranking to see if you're missing anything or put something in the wrong place.

    3. How do I check how many posts I have?

Just click your username or go to your profile. Your number of "Messages" is your posts.

    4. Can I change my ranking after I've submitted it?

No. Once it's counted, that's it. You have 2 weeks to come up with your Top 20, if you're unsure about it you can take the time to decide before submitting. There's no need to rush.

    5. Why isn't my username in the OP yet?

I still haven't counted your ranking yet. As long as you submitted your ranking within the voting period, you're fine though.

    6. What happens if you discover a mistake in my ranking but only after the voting period ended?

That's fine too. Again, as long as you submitted on time your ranking is guaranteed to be counted unless you broke one of the rules or you're a duplicate account, in which case you'll be banned for a while. If there is a problem, I'll PM you and give you time to fix it as long as you submitted before the deadline.

    7. I found a mistake in your member list/Someone who was active in 2015 wasn't included/Someone who wasn't active in 2015 was included!

Please let me know immediately! I'll need to amend it before anyone else votes using the wrong list then.

*To be updated as questions come in

Ok, I think I can unlock this thread now. Please, please remember to read the rules and the FAQs and everything will go so much smoother. Don't rush to submit your ranking. People always make mistakes, check and doublecheck it so I don't have to message you to fix it.

I'm quite excited to run this this year, thanks to the unexpected results last year. Takamina and Paruru were literally neck and neck for most of the race last year until the last several votes pushed Paruru ahead. Considering Paruru had gotten so many negatives in the past, it was uplifting to see how many people like her now or at the very least, understand her better. I wonder if she can take the crown twice?

What I'm not really excited about is the fact that we added two more groups lol. We already had trouble distinguishing from 570 girls last year even with everyone ranking 20 members, now with 600+ girls the points will be even more spread out and even more girls will have trouble standing out. We'll see how the traditional 20 member voting system works this year; it's no fun having all the members lumped together in the results. If we have to change the system next year, then we will.

But yeah, talk and vote away (when the voting period starts)! Oh, if anyone knows of any rankers, please let me know. I'd like to link one in the OP, but all the ones I've used are outdated now.

Well, tonight is gonna suck. I been dreading this the last month or so. Knowing I am gonna have to go through and sort out my rankings.:wall:

Atleast I already know my Top5 for 2015. And #7. So that is 6 out of 20. There is that at least. Everything else, proverbial bloodbath. :yikes:

Pfffft. Pencil and paper is all anyone needs for this. Or Notepad/other equivalent software.:D

Well... Since BOTH of my PCs are out of service, and I'm not used to use my phone, I'll send my votes the next week.
Also, Iwata Karen had her graduation stage this week, shouldn't be in graduates?

Since Karen hasn't technically had her last activities yet (March 21st I believe), she's not fully graduated. Just like how they haven't put Sae under graduates because she still has things left to do in the group~

AKBsort.tumblr.com is a pretty good ranker that I used only a couple of weeks ago so that may be an option for those of you who have trouble sorting out your favorites manually.

I have a little difficulty with it on mobile, I think it has to do with the tumblr theme they use. So if the menus/links to select which group or team you want to rank don't come up on mobile browser, you can enter the pages in manually. To rank all HKT, for example, you'd go to akbsort.tumblr.com/hktall (Or nmball, skeall etc). Teams are straightforward - akbsort.tumblr.com/teamniii etc. If you really hate yourself and have a couple hours to kill, you can try akbsort.tumblr.com/all for the entire group.

I got a tie at #3. For the life of me, I can't separate the two. What do?

Flip a coin? Or bump them further down so they get the same number of points aha. I feel your pain, my #3 spot is a 4 person bloodbath.

Already sent mine in. Some fun new faces - Some Upsets - Some rewards for the past - Some investments in the Future.

I'm often more fascinated by who gets "Negatives" - remember last year Sayurin "Ringo" was dead last!! - I'm sure that won't happen this year. It will be interesting to see Paruru can hold on to her title or if Takamina will have 1 more "victory lap" on Stage48??

I softened my 'stance' a bit this year - mainly because even if one my favs scores "high" - it doesn't mean crap in the AKB48 election so who am I trying to impress. I did take me about an hour to comprise & assemble my list.

I though about giving negatives this year. But rejected the thought a hot second after having it. Seeing as it would only be one girl, a -5 seemed kind of harsh. And I would have docked her for stuff I pulled in the past. So it would have been hypocritical. Can't have that.

I could not do either to the girls. It means naught in the grand scheme of things, but to my heart it still is important. More so than SSK results, in many ways. I got it sorted though. As much as I hated doing it, I went with their end of 2014 rank, instead of end of 2015 rank like the rest of the girls. So.....

    List submitted.;)

Useful because AKBsort is still so behind on Sakamichi stuff. No Neru but they still have Harada Mayu. And most Nogis don't have pics.
Worst of all despite not including Neru they got rid of Maimai too early.
But it's still the only place I saw with a ranking for all 46 and Japanese 48 groups in one.
I only wish these had back buttons so I didn't need to do 3 retries of that massive undertaking.

Also it showed me how cute SKE's new gens are. Top Kenkyusei of the pack IMO.

    Here's another one:

    http://akbsort2014.web.fc2.com

This one also doesn't have keyaki pics, which makes me think there's something wrong with the keyaki site and other sites trying to pull pics from it.
