Rikachan's gravure is getting quite expensive to follow

Up to Boy & Flash special should be arriving in the post on Thursday. Of the others I've gotten recently "My Girl" is definitely the best solo feature. The pictures are big and bright and Rika looks very pretty and it shows her natural exuberance.

Young Magazine issue 19 is slightly disappointing, 6 pages is simply not enough to show 5 members but it's ok for 300 or so yen.

Bomb magazine issue 5 is excellent but this is consistently the best pure gravure magazine imo. It is a 5 member feature (Rika, Maho, Hinata, Yuka & Minami) but manages to show the members in well in isolation as well as in combination and the pictures are nice without getting into the sleazier side of things. The photography, lighting & costumes are always very good.

I don't particularly like Weekly Playboy magazine, it's too much on the sleazy side of things but Rika has 5 pages in issue 17 recently. If you know the type of bikini's used in AKB's Sousenkyo Mizugi Surprise book then you'll know the type of things she wears, very sparkly lol.

In every issue of WPB there's a 2 page comic strip which was about Sasshi & HKT for a long time but covers all 48-group now. NGT & Rika appear in issue 17:

Yup, that's right. NGT girls on one side and NMB (Nagisa, Riripon, Jo) on the other side.

There's also non-bikini gravure articles for Okappa/Tsugumin and Rena/Rika/Anju and also Kitarie.

I only checked some off-shots and scans but by this one, I'd say UTB worthy!


Young Magazine looks very simple indeed. It's just a phonebook-like manga like Shounen Jump, isn't it? In My Girl I found Rikachan looks a bit different in the cover but I didn't check its contents yet. BOMB looks great! I liked the outfits (specially that jeans/denim bikini) and loved her hair in all photos.

Yeah, Weekly Playboy's outfits look low ... but I particularly liked Rikachan in red dress holding flowers:


The only magazine I didn't like so much was that Christmas BLT. Although Rikachan was very cute in Santa's outfit, I found they didn't do a good job with the light, with excessive flash glare, shadows and killing the natural light (the best use of flash is when you don't notice it was used).

Thanks for the comic strips! I laughed at Kitarie's drawing.
It seems Sakura's column Sakubun! ended and Rikahime's #Hime~ru replaced it.

Nakai Rika, the center of the long awaited NGT48's major debut single "Seishun Dokei"* and called by many as "Milky's successor", is featured in the "FLASH Special Golden Week issue" (Kobunsha) with gravures and interview.

- Congratulations on NGT48's major debut! Please tell me your impressions of being nominated as the center of "Seishun Dokei".

When the center was announced at NGT48's solo concert on January 20, host Tokumitsu (Kazuo) hinted the last character of center's name was "ka". So I guessed "Moeka (Takakura Moeka)". I didn't even think it was me. It was a complicated situation but when I went back to the dressing room and saw some girls crying in frustration, I realized that since I was chosen as the center, I should be more confident.

- Did Katomina tell anything?

I was bearish at first, wondering if it was alright being me the center, then Katomina encouraged me "If you don't do it, I will", so I said "I do, I do." (laughs)

Yeah that red dress was nice. And Playboy does sell a lot so it's relatively prestigious for an idol to get in it, it's a pity it's such a crappy magazine overall. Oh well.

Yep Young Magazine is more or less the same as Shonen Jump and it does sell well so it's good to be on the cover. Incidendatally yesterday was recycling day so I took out the 300 or so pages of manga and was left with the covers and about 10 pages of photos so it became a very thin magazine

That BLT is pretty much the only Rika gravure I've missed. By the time I noticed it, it had sold out at Amazon and the shipping is hella expensive if you buy from 2nd hand sellers (that's if you can find any that will ship outside of Japan). I agree with you though, the photos are very average from what I've seen on scans.

Girls magazine is very nice with generally good photoshoots but it is expensive (about 2500 yen). both my other favourite gravure queens Haruppi and Milky have graced the cover of Girls.


So, last week the Flash Magazine special and UTB issue with Rikachan arrived in the post. Firstly the Flash photoshoot....it's only OK tbh. Rika is cute as normal but some of the poses are awkward and some of the hairstyling and lighting isn't so great. It's ok, not terrible but not great.

UTB on the other hand....is probably the best Rika photoshoot I've ever seen. 16 pages in total, the quality of the photography, lighting, scenery, makeup, hairstyling is excellent. The choice of photos picked has obviously been done with great care, this shoot in my opinion is the best one so far to encapsulate Rika's personality (personalities lol) into the shots. If someone could only afford one magazine then I'd recommend this one. There's a big poster that comes with it too.

 

Rikachan said she wanted to learn wotagei but was discouraged to do that.
But then other viewer mentioned Sasshi knew how to do it.
