it's all over the internet, and on the news during the time.
i'm not defending Nanami, i don't need to, i'm neither fan nor anti of her so i shouldn't care what she does in her life now or what other fans/anti suspect she did before graduating.
i'm not saying i completely believe her statement.
but to say it only happen in movies, stalkers are not a new thing actually.

You forgot the part where he is a rich, old, married man. So if the allegations are true it wouldn't be dating, it would be having an affair with a married man.

LOL. It's been long time since I was here.. but well, my beautiful Nanamin is hit by a scandal...

Okay. First, I'm Nanamin's fan and I will give her a benefit of the doubt here. It's totally possible that they don't have romantic/sex relationship and just "fatherly" relationship. It's rare and quite unbelievable though (what? asking a 50 yo man to be your bodyguard?) but let's cut some slack here.

However, I agree with @MrQazman's assessment, this is a very serious accusation. Nanamin is not just breaking the idol love ban here. If this is true, in the best case, they have consensual love and it's adultery. In the worst case, Nanamin is sleeping for jobs/money which is borderline prostitution. That man could be considered committing sexual harassment as well if he uses power for love/sex (at least in Western standard, not sure about Japan though).

This post is unnecessarily condescending. If you read Japanese forums, I'd say majority of people think they at least have romantic relationship. And ffs, she didn't make that comment for her fans (a.k.a. you and me). She has said explicitly that she doesn't want to involve in showbiz and, for a person leaving entertainment world, her fans' emotions/feelings are completely meaningless. That's just the fact. I can assure you that she must make that comment for only two reasons.

First, her scandal is affecting Nogizaka46 as a whole and people believing her scandal will probably think that they do it for a long time before her graduation and think other girls do the same thing. Note that she is making the statement on Nogizaka's official page, not her personal page. She is communicating to all Nogi's fans, not her fans. Regardless of whether the scandal is true or not, having the impression that people could sleep their way to the top is bad for every business. That's corporate communication/PR.

Second, that guy's career needs to be saved here. She mentioned the guy's wife in her statement and his family needs to be saved as well but she doesn't need to make a public statement to save that (she could talk with his wife directly). She did that (and potentially that guy asked/forced her to do that as well) because this kind of scandal is harmful for anyone's career, especially for an entertainment company like SME. I'm not sure how well-connected that guy is but unless he somehow owns Sony, he is still an employee subjected to office politics and the reputation game. This kind of scandal could severely hamper his career (case in point, Fox News recently).

No harm done, I mean there are people on here who seem to believe stalking doesn't exist / isn't a serious issue...
As I mentioned in the same post - she mentioned being stalked in her mails 5 months ago, 3 months before the actual graduation date, only makes sense that management would take it seriously.

    ^Post above
To bring it into context though, the day they got "caught" it seems that they'd been out eating dinner before he dropped her off. Up until then it had usually been other managers.
On that front, the guy himself probably has nothing to prove to his employers as they're aware of the issue.

I do believe her message had nothing to do with the fans though, she's not an idol anymore and she has every right in the world to do whatever the hell she wants. If that includes a married man for breakfast, lunch & dinner, so be it. She does, however, have every right to be pissed that a tabloid goes and interviews her mother etc when she's no longer in the public domain.

Thanks for the context. But the point still stands. Basically, I don't think his employer, SME, suggested/authorized an executive director to escort 1:1 an idol to her place. Entertainment is an image business and that's against all image practices. So, he must do it on his freewill, get caught, and potentially cause damage to Nogizaka46, a growing multi-million dollar group under him. I'd be surprised if he hasn't had a few tough conversations with a few big bosses by now (note: he and Nanamin might be innocent here but he hurt their image and caused damage to the bottom line).

This is slightly off-topic but I always feel idol fans treat this relationship too personal. It's a fact that all these idol groups are multi-million dollar businesses and both the girls and their management are working here. We are, to put it straight, their customers, no more no less. And no businesses will allow their (ex-)employees to use their official account to rant against their customers (regardless whether her feeling is justifiable or not). Nanamin's statement (especially a written one in this case) must have been reviewed by a few folks and serve some purposes, not ranting against some tabloids on their treatment.

Ex-idol, by the time all these photos were taken, hence not bound by the same duties as an active idol. Clumsy action perhaps to go 1:1 so soon, but there's still a difference.

But yes, I am very certain her message on the official site is damage control as well. She doesn't owe anyone an explanation really, while as you say Sony have more to gain from it. Being said, I don't believe the damage is too big, as I've mentioned way back there's more discussions among jp fans (the main customer base) about how great she looks in blonde hair than anything else. Sponsors don't appear to be dropping out either so far into the game.

As for the stop bothering my family sentence of her message (it is but one sentence after all), since that's what was replied to - I have no reason to doubt that isn't her honest feelings though. These are people who've never been in the public eye to begin with, unlike Nanamin herself.
    -----

Do believe there's not much less to prove on this topic though as it's most likely dead unless Bunshun has a nice follow-up article scheduled next week. We'll see how it goes!

    +1 like this one.

    but imo ,

it will not cause heavy dammage among the fanbase itself . she's allready graduate and nothing to do with the groups anyway. majority people will also believed they at least have developed romantic relationship, but in other side also theres huge among the fans believing this news are fake and nothing to do with it.

i dont think bunshun will have a nice follow-up article for this things .

well even for me their "explanation" regards this news allready enough to make conclusion whats in reality going on between them lmao .

    --

ppl can say i'm just a hater digging a bad news from idols and hoping that was true , but for me i'll just follow my personal logic and opinion . anyone can believe her excuse regards this news , but also anyone can trust this news at least they have a romantic relationship

I apologize if my post seemed condescending. Perhaps I was just disgusted by the delight some people seem to get out of scandals like this. But I did also state that the comment was not for her fans or even for herself, never once stating that it was a message to appease her fans. Her message was one of disappointment, not "I'm sorry to make you all blah blah blah" copy/paste bullshit that most people use to try and save face. She was most certainly not trying to save face because it probably seems absolutely absurd, and also probably quite vexing, to her to suddenly be attacked like this. And yes, I do consider it an attack on her. It's an attack on her image, it's an attack on her character, it's an attack on everything she's done the last 5 years. I'm sure you would agree. As a Nanami fan, I'm sure you didn't end up liking her because of her screen-time or whatever push she received from management. She won her fans over through her character and her beauty and her hardwork to maintain her standings. I know that's how she won me over haha, I never once thought "This girl is super cute! ...there's gotta be an old pervert behind her success." lol. I'm not quite that paranoid. I'm not saying that that doesn't happen, because I'm sure it does but I choose to believe what I've seen through my own personal observation and not what some tabloid with a history of making up scandals to try and make money tell me to believe.

Other than that, I agree with all the points you've made! You've certainly looked into what could possibly prompt her to issue a statement like this and it's certainly interesting. I don't know what the affected people have said to her but there definitely has to have been pressure somewhere. Enough for the official Nogizaka site to allow (possibly encourage) her message to be posted. Whatever the case may be, I certainly hope it's not too damaging to her, whether it's true or not. If it's true, then there should be a more serious investigation into the kind of relationships these idols have with management as most idols tend to be underage. It shouldn't just be a "execute the witch and all will be fine" kind of decision haha. If it's not true, however, then I hope whoever tried to come up with these accusations is thoroughly inconvenienced for the rest of the year hahaha.

It just breaks my heart to see people still trying to start shit with her after she's retired. Talk about having nothing better to do than to follow around a private citizen. Anything for a story, I guess. Here's hoping we find out the truth and that this girl can just go back to being a regular member of society just like she originally planned.

Yeah I doubt it'll have a follow-up too because in the full article, which I read, they confront the guy who denies any accusations of a romantic relationship.
Bunshun themselves actually do not say anything too incriminating other than the headline being very sensationalist, as with all news media. They need clicks and sales to make profit after all. The full article just describes the event flow of the paparazzi following them to outside the building, them entering together, and him exiting shortly afterwards, plus questioning of the guy and Hashimoto's mother.

If they'd have more dirt there'd be a "more to be released soon" like they did with Matsumura.
    ------------

The article could never be "fake" in itself, as it has picture evidence and it states nothing out of the ordinary in question. Hasty conclusions are a different thing though, but yes everyone is allowed to make out of it whatever they will. It's not like any opinion on here will change anything. :p

I do believe forums such as these have a harder time because I think the majority of users have lacking or nonexistent Japanese ability, plus no access to the original content.

If she really is dating him, then of course she would lie about it. He's a married executive so having a relationship with him could cost millions of dollars in legal and corporate damages.

If she is saying the truth, it sounds like a planned statement. As if she had this written down for a while and didn't post it until she absolutely needed to.

But I'm just an American, so who the hell knows what a Japanese person would think from their perspective.

I don't know what magic one uses to tell how long a statement has been written down before it is revealed to the public.

Of course she would choose her words carefully, if she went off half cocked people would kvetch about that, she's damned if she does damned if she doesn't, at least this way she can stand by her statement and not have to backtrack because she said something in a fit of pique.
Of course the first course of action is to ignore it to see if it just goes away as responding to it would give the story longer legs.

My view is simple if one is going to level a serious allegation about marital infidelity one should have solid evidence. There are no pictures of them canoodling. There are no pics of them going into a love hotel or him entering her place and leaving 6-8 hours later or vice versa.
There could be something going on, but there is no definitive proof and barring such proof decent people should avoid screwing with peoples lives on flimsy evidence.
