    It's been discontinued though:

A cool project. Discontinued, nontheless, it is indeed a fascinating case of what could've been a cultural fusion of two entirely different cultures thousand of miles apart.

Hahaha. Thanks. Keep up the good work.

And thumbs up to all the subbers.

I think generally it's because Indonesia is a big country, so even when there's only a small percentile of people who are fans they stand out. Kinda like china, they have a lot of active translators translating fans too. I know some light novels that are fan-translated from japanese to chinese to english.

About Japanese content, there was a time when dorama was really popular, and anime is right now more popular than ever. I think it's popular because during our childhood the TV would air some animes on sunday morning, things like doraemon, crayon shinchan, pokemon, digimon. Also the relationship between the two countries is close, which is strange considering their history lol. Because of those 3 reasons there are a decent amount of people who know the japanese language. Like, you see those weird english subs on some old episodes? Some of those fansubbers have way better japanese than english, and I don't think that's common in another country beside maybe Korea or China lol.

For chinese/taiwanese content, there was a time when F4/Boys Before Flowers was reaaaaally popular, and most of the current fans are from that time.

For korean content, it's because of the korean wave/hangul. I myself don't know why Indonesia got hit so hard with it, but perhaps because of the people's perception that the local artists are crappy. Western music is also reaaaaaally popular in Indonesia because of that.

Indonesian loovees imported stuffs so much

We love western singers, western food, western movies.

We love japanese singers, japanese food, japanese movies.

I don't know why, eventhough in the past when indonesian own entertainment were still good, we still love imported stuffs.
