It is an official thing though surprisingly. The DEL logo is on the bottom of AKB’s website.

But no MUB, even though they were in the announcement?

heh, the MUB48 flag on the DEL48's lead to a website, but I can't load it. Is it the same for everyone?

Yes for me. Anyway is this the similar company that launch the original MUM48?

Interesting. It is double the risk by establishing two sister groups at simultaneously which the previous company not even able to established one. What makes them to be sooooooo confident.

Both of them are veteran actors with Rohit Bakshi debuting in 2001, and Prerna Sharma 2002, so they must have a lot of Bollywood connections. My hope is that the group focuses more on acting than music since that's where the money is in India. I also hope that they spend a good chunk of money on security too since sexual assault rates are really high over their.

This....this is highly interesting? I wasn't expecting another group announcement. I do have to wonder what was their thought process? Hm.

They changed management and rebranded (changed their name) but as far as I can tell its the same project. 'Disbanded' implies a group was formed and then broken up. MUM48 never even had any official members.

I couldn't think of another, more appropriate word. Maybe dissolved?

    Edit:
In more recent years I've noticed AKB usually announces 3 overseas sister groups a year. 2 if you don't count the 3 different Taiwanese announcements. If you don't count MUB, we're up to 2.

I would say "changed management and rebranded" like I did above but to each their own :p It was a bit inaccurate when it was used for TPE as well (the wiki at one point said it disbanded, now it says it was 'cancelled') since the group wasn't broken up, it just changed hands and got a rebrand as well.

So looks like Delhi’s main language is Hindi while Mumbai’s main language is Marathi

Maybe DEL48 & MUB48 will release the same songs at the same time, but with different languages (kinda like how Exo had Exo-K & Exo-M)

That would actually be pretty cool. I hope the project takes off and they have a Punjabi speaking sister group as well.

PJB48 actually would be really interesting to see. I could definitely see it happening if DEL48 & MUB48 becomes a success.

So with DEL & MUB, if there is a 3rd left, I’m guessing it’ll be either of these

    • AKB48 Team BJ (Beijing China)
    • HNI48 (Hanoi, Vietnam)
    • SEO48 (Seoul, South Korea)
    • KLP48 (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)
    • UBT48 (Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia)
    • SPO48 (Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan)

Team BJ since it was one of the ideas before for AKB China (alongside Team GZ & others)

HNI since I think it was rumored they wanted more sister groups for Vietnam

SEO since the 48G fandom is growing in Korea, and it would probably be the next best thing since from the looks of it, Produce series isn’t gaining as much traction as it used to. And it would be a perfect announcement to make for IZ*One’s first year anniversary

KLP could happen seeing as Indosia got a sister group, so it could probably work in Malaysia as well

UBT could also happen since aside from Korea, it’s the last country in East Asia a sister group could be placed in. So Mongolia could fill that void. Also I think there was some event that happened there, so it may happen

    And

SPO48 if there are plans for another Japanese sister group
    ——

Speaking of another Japanese sister group, they could always try to pull another SDN48 type group as far as experimental ideas goes.

Maybe they’d have a sister group in Harajuku, and they’d have an overall concept fitting for the styling there. Like them being in charge of the bright + cute-quirky image as far as JPN sister groups goes.
