It's worth it for the experience though, Hori has to carry a film based in a manga that's been over for decades. Even Asahinagu didn't exactly explode like we idol fans would have wanted it to.

Well how well a movie is doing at the theater rarely became a consideration for the actor/actress recieving an award. Look at DiCaprio, he starred one of the most succesfull movie of all time, didn't get an oscar for that. Plus the award for miona's movie is in china while the data is from i presume japanese theater only

 

I wasnt expect Hot Gimmick to become smash hit either, since only Yoshioka Riho who buzz worthy name in general public among the cast. Though there are Hiroya Shimizu and Itagaki Mizuki reunion after Solomon's Perjury, I dont think it have significant impact.


I was keep my expectation as realistic as possible by hoping for moderate success for Hot Gimmick like how AnoKoro did. AnoKoro was screen at less number of theater than Asahiganu, not expected to be a box office succes as Asahinagu either, but AnoKoro exceed expectation and reach moderate success.

 

I know, and i assumed most people also knew it, but some people just want to spreads the hate.

 

The one thing I noticed during today's NogiChu (2019.07.07): in her normal idol makeup, Asuka is very beautiful.

I assume they went to London accidentally at the same time for different purpose. And they decided to meet up in Queen's Theatre.

 

So I just watched the JP version of You Are the Apple of My Eye (あの頃、君を追いかけた). Was a huge fan of the original Chinese film, so I was excited to see that Japan did a remake.

I was so surprised when I saw Asuka in the movie. Had no idea she was the female lead. To be honest, she was a bit wooden in line delivery but she fit the character's image - the shy, innocent model student - perfectly. I'm not too familiar with Asuka-chan's character/image in Nogi, perhaps it's similar?

I did enjoy the Chinese version a lot more though, the female lead there had more spunk.

Good movie, overall & belated congrats to Asuka on a good start to her film career. For anyone who wants to watch the movie, there's an english-subbed version on various streaming sites.

Asuka was my most favorite member together with Maiyan. So if this scene someday will come to Maiyan to I think its okay for me. Sorry because i'm not sure but the this scene. Just looking at it it seems its only on the side. I don't know but you know how camera works.
