I think this is going to be the case for most singles - idol groups and otherwise - for a few months at least.

Here's a poor translation of their twitter announcement: https://twitter.com/zeroReactivity/status/1248649732316110850

    ----
(Notice) Regarding STU48's 5th single, scheduled to be released May 27th (Wednesday), based on the announcements from the government on the spreading infections of the novel coronavirus, as well as declaration of a "state of emergency", we have decided it is unavoidable that we postpone the release. https://www.stu48.com/news/detail/6815

Given the situation STU48 wanted to provide everyone with new songs, but, as things like the music video, jacket shooting, and recording are done on-site, to prioritize the health and safety of the members and staff, we concluded that work towards the release was too difficult.

For all of the trouble this will cause our customers who were looking forward to it, we deeply and sincerely apologize.

Concerning the new release date, etc., as soon as the details are decided we will communicate it to everyone!

Thank you for your continuing support of STU48.

Sad but necessary. The health of everyone involved is way more important.

Unfortunate to hear STU48 delays single release again due to a nationwide anomaly (this time worldwide, the pandemic; still remember when one of their singles had to be delayed just because of heavy summer rain!), but again, it's better safe than sorry.

Surprised that NMB48's single is still scheduled for May 13 (for now), but probably they had their necessary work done.

Cannot predict when this single will actually release because we don't know the actual full extent of COVID-19 in Japan...

    It's not "just heavy rain"

It was one of the worst disaster in Japan since the 2011 tsunami incident. I suggest you read this interview with Yumirin to fully understand how heavily that incident affected the whole Setouchi area. Chiho also had to stay over at Fuu's for over a month because she couldn't return home.

Shintani Nonoka announced graduation. Will she still be part of senbatsu? Is this single ever going to be released?

Well the rumor is they're are filming the A-side MV now/just recently filmed it, so I expect the single is back on track. As for Nonchan, she's leaving very soon, but the fact that she's not leaving immediately may suggest she is staying long enough to record her video/song tracks.

The MVs will be released on 07/23
    https://twitter.com/STU48_official_/status/1285484659799805953

Also it will be shown during the Drive in Lives from 07/23 to 07/28 (yes, with audience in cars)

There is a voting to choose which MV will be shown during the last performance.

HMV Japan is holding a promotion for signed member chekis for the single:
    https://www.hmv.co.jp/news/article/2007171001/

There'll be live streamed signings almost daily between 8/1 and 8/15 (the schedule is on the link above). Chekis for 1st Gen and D3 members will each come with a Type A CD and 2nd Gen ones with a Type B. It's possible to register a personal nickname in customer account settings. However the goods are quite expensive, it's 5,250 JPY per CD/cheki and each member's items will be sent seperately which bumps up shipping costs for multiple orders.

Just to note, that's 3xCD. But then again that doesn't matter as HMV currently doesn't take orders outside Japan due to covid reasons (they are too lazy to make it country specific like CDJapan).
Also it's limited to 1 order with max 3 cheki items in it. And account is necessary so no proxy.

I wondered what they meant by '3 pieces set' so presumably you'd receive 3 copies of the same CD? I've noticed other idols supplying 2 CDs per cheki purchase (as a replacement offering for HS events) but not 3 lol. I was also wondering if proxies could be used - presumably not those such as Tenso but I'd guess it'd be OK to use private addresses in Japan if you have a contact there.

if the video does not show watch the video here

Lots of 2nd gen, lots of the usual beautiful scenery, and - with some relief - back to actually sounding like STU48 again.

    Totally agree. :)
STU48 MVs have beautiful filming locations.

Is the location of the attached pic, in Mitarai as well? Thanks.
