    Kind of sad that they don't include Mori Anna in anything 9th gen related anymore. Technically she is the 1st of the 9th gen to graduate, not NGO, due to "Back Pain". It makes sense in a way, she only lasted like 2 years and only like 3 months of those were actually spent as a promoted OG Team 4 member but at least she was there and she was kind of pushed as an early frontline/center candidate. Maybe it's just because she was my 9th gen oshi but i did always hope to see reunion photos or appearances include her

    Tbh, regarding Nanchan, during her "retirement" ceremony back in 2018, she'd admit that the "Golden Generation" aren't include her in that sense of the moniker coined right after she's grad in June 2011. That mean, for management, she's not a part of the members that they pushed as "Golden Gen" to begin with.
    Then for her own discretion, she's admit that after grad, if she's mentioned anything about AKB and fellow 9th Gen, she's felt that she's "riding their coattail and hardworks", although most of them still keep in touch with her. Mariko, Shimada and NGO are one that I know still keep in touch with her.

    But that doesn't mean that all "old fan" shouldn't forget the 9th Gen Original Sweetheart, the one girls that genmates willing to start "war" just to be a roommate , that manager put her with seniors room to stop a fight lol.

    Two articles in Entame Next, talking about the new photo book and some memories.

    Mariya Nagao, a change in her 30s, "I didn't expect to continue my entertainment activities so far."

    ──The release date of the photo book was November 14, but please tell me why you chose this date.
    Nagao: I've always made my and my family's birthdays on the release date, but this time, when I thought about a special anniversary for me, I thought I'd make my debut day as an AKB48 member.

    ──The debut was in 2009, isn't it?
    Nagao: It was 14 years ago, so it feels strange to think that I was standing on that stage. It's very emotional. My first job was a handshake party, but of course I had never had a handshake party, and I was not an idol fan, so I had never been there, so it was an unknown world. I was very worried about whether there was someone who would come to me. Actually, he came first, but it was a strange feeling that he would buy a handshake ticket and come to me.

    ──You have vivid memories of that time.
    Nagao: that's right. Also, there was a lot of anxiety about whether I could dance well at the "unveiling performance" that was waiting for after the handshake meeting. Among my peers, I was in the detention group by dancing, and Paluru (Haruka Shimazaki), who was in the same detention group, said, "I can't keep up, isn't it dangerous? There was a time when I was talking about "Let's stop," but when I stood on the stage at the unveiling performance, I got more cheering than I thought and said, "We're cool!" That's what happened (laughs). I think I would probably have quit as soon as it had not been for the fans' cheering. I am still impressed that the uneasy feeling of "what should I do, I wonder if it's okay ..." has been led to confidence by the cheers of the fans and changed to the feeling that "I may still be able to continue".

    [I have to admit I like the translation "detention group" to describe her and Paruru's dance skills. :)]
