The 2022 Stage48 Member Ranking Results (All ranks revealed!)

01. Morita Hikaru (+15)
Sakura oshi #1. I feel like Sakura overall hasn't been doing extremely well (though I don't follow sales so maybe I'm wrong), but the members are all still so great and underappreciated if that is the case. Morita herself. She's a solid performer, funny on the weekly show, and overall is just a great idol (and cute, not to mention).
02. Yamashita Mizuki (+10)
Zukki used to be my 3rd favorite Nogi member, but during the time I stopped following the groups, both my #1 and #2 graduated. That's not to say anything bad about her however. She's a hard worker and a great actress, and is one of my favorite members looks wise. I am also incredibly weak to the devilish kind of characters.
03. Seimiya Rei (+9)
04. Yamasaki Ten (+8)
The most growth out of any Sakura member. She has really turned around from when I thought she might not be able to make it in variety when she started out. Honestly the kind of personal growth I wish I could have.
05. Kaki Haruka (+7)
Ok, maybe I am just superficial, because I have to admit I find all of the members on my list cute. Kaki is very cute, maybe excessively so. The only other Nogi member I find that can rival her in that category is Ikeda Teresa, who I am somewhat regretting not voting for.
06. Fujiyoshi Karin (+6)
07. Kakehashi Sayaka (+5)

08. Hayakawa Seira (+5)
Her personality just shines. I first noticed her in the background of Star Tanjou, where she just looked like she was enjoying everything so much with that big smile on her face. I'm happy she's back from her hiatus.
09. Tamura Hono (+4)
I thought she was funny. She hasn't been focused on too much in the shows lately though, so hopefully that changes (though with the new 3rd gens joining probably not).
10. Matsuda Rina (+4)
Our new Sakura leader. Her energy reminded me of Oshima Yuko, and I think she has the potential to become like that too. Though the failing energy is maybe more like Takamina.
11. Akimoto Manatsu (+4)
She's been a great leader since Sakurai left, and I also, again, really liked her devilish character.
12. Umezawa Minami (+3)
Also a good leader, and hopefully she'll do well in the years to come.
13. Takemoto Yui (+3)
The comedy center of Sakura, probably along with Inoue. Sokosaku would not be what it is without her.
14. Saito Asuka (+3)
I didn't really like her at first, but she grew on me over the years. Apparently, she's my roommate's favorite, so I tossed a vote in for him as well as for my appreciation of her time with the group.
15. Ito Riria (+2)
16. Oguri Yui(+2)
I really admire her dedication to the group and honestly, she's just a great example of one of my favorite parts of idols, just watching them grow up and mature.
17. Hayashi Runa (+2)
She's talented, and has a unique look that I like. Also pretty funny.
18. Sugai Yuuka (+1)
Appreciation for the last few years. IMO she stepped up pretty well to the captain role, even if she thought it didn't suit her.
19. Kitagawa Yuri (+1)
Strange, but in a good way. Also, American bias.
20. Takahashi Ayane (+1)
I'm superficial and she's cute. I wish I could've gotten to know her more, but she's only been on like 2 episodes of Sayonara Mori (the shows are basically the only way I get idol content), and now apparently that's going away too.

Wow, surprise win by Oguri Yui. Really thought Asuka would win this year, but I'm glad to see someone new win! (I think).

 

OMG, this is definitely by miles the happiest I've been since I started to follow the Stage48 rankings, all 48G in top 3, and my top 2 is actually the top 2 LOL.

01. 1. (6) [24] [AKB] Oguri Yui {+197}, 197 --- Yuiyui, my current kami-oshi, and among my personal all-time Kami-7, the cutest of them all, so innocent too. This year is another great year for her, all the dramas, that wonderful PB, what else can I say. And I was the happiest when she joins Team B during the shuffle, which I think suits her image the best. Let's go for another Yuiyui single center.
02. 2. (4) [21] [AKB] Kashiwagi Yuki {+159}, 159 --- Yukirin is of course also among my personal all-time Kami-7, the longetivity in AKB while maintaining popularity, good at singing, great at variety, and is a good role model that all the kouhai can depend on. And I still don't want her to graduate just yet.

04. 5. (28) [16] [HKT] Yabuki Nako{+124}, 124 --- My kami-oshi of HKT after Sakura graduated, she has been working hard to help the group since getting back to HKT, with all her improved singing and dancing. So unfortunate she has decided to graduate in the spring, but I hope (and have confidence) for her success outside of HKT.

My second-favourite Eito and a very beautiful member who is recognised a lot by the general public so hopefully she'll continue to play a big part in the group after Team 8 goes on hiatus.

My Nogi- and Sakamichi-oshi who has had a very good year both inside and outside of the group, she had two B-side centers and an increasing number of acting roles and magazine covers. She's a very lovely and sweet person in online talks and I'm very proud and happy that I got to meet her in person at a HS event in May 2019. Hopefully she'll get an A-side center soon.

My AKB 'ni-oshi' who for me has pretty much everything I'd expect from an idol, she's has talent and very pretty looks as well as a good personality for variety shows. I have to say though that my online talk experiences with her have been a little mixed but I'll always be a big fan of hers and I look forward to her participation in the next single.

Kaki Haruka - One more of my all-time fav's. A smile that can heal the wounds of a nation. The moment I saw her PV from Gomen ne Fingers Crossed I fell for her. She's the girl you know since childhood and who's cool with the boys. Cool, heartwarming, loving, carrying, beautiful and talented. I don't know where destiny will lead her to, but I want to watch her taking on whatever lays ahead.

Okada Nana - From a girl I liked to my kami-oshi for the past years to even becoming one of my all-time fav's. Her "incident" didn't make me hate her, but I won't lie - I got a bit disappointed. She shared the first place in AKB with Okabe, after that I had to rank her one below. Nonetheless - I think this whole thing made her even stronger, her aura is tremendous! To me, she is one of the biggest 48 members of the last 10 years. I could write a lot more, but that should be it for now. Okada, I hope you stay in the music industry, 'cause I'm looking forward to your first single, and the day you hit #1 in the charts.

Kubo Shiori - Was it her piano playing in the 46-Hour show, when she struggled but fought through it and succeeded? Or her passion when acting? Or her overall captivating character? The beauty maybe? I want to figure it out, guess I'll follow her until I get an answer - somewhere, in the far future. Kubo, thank you for being who you are, I couldn't connect with you at all in the beginning, but I started appreciating and loving you the more I could watch you. Your future shall be as bright as possible!

But I gotta ask - what happend to the Sakamichi fans here? Only one member in the Kami 7 and a total of five in the senbatsu? That was quite a weak year.

I've liked Nako since early on in her idol career and I've been liking her more and more as time went on. She is a great performer and I'm glad she will get to graduate on a high note as HKT's center.

6. (7) [23] [AKB] Yamauchi Mizuki {+123}, 123 [+10 points from me]
My second oshi! I'm happy she is getting so much love on here because she deserves it. She is one of the best performers in AKB by far, it's so hard to take your eyes off of her when she is on stage! She exudes energy and truly does have the cutest smile. She is a great dancer, too! Despite being very much the classical idol type, I'm glad she is on Team K. Zukky pulls off the cuter side of Team K's cool image I also really like her personality. It's interesting, she isn't exactly the perfect person for variety, but somehow her introverted nature wins her some funny moments sometimes. Plus, she just feels very authentic to me. In SayoMouri and stuff she doesn't really speak unless prompted, but is professional and approachable when she does so and she truly just seems glad that she is able to perform as an idol and bring people happiness that way. I don't really see a center position for her in the near future but I so wish she would get another chance at it because she has the aura needed for it, imo.

I honestly did expect Yuiyui to win! I think it's very deserved. Yuiyui is truly the perfect idol, more so than any other person in the group at the moment, imo. She wasn't a favorite of mine at first, but she has been growing on me so so much over the past few years. I also really want her to get another center position. Hopefully next single? (A YuiZukky W center would be even better, but only in my dreams )

Kaki Haruka: I gave her 3 points. She is the only Sakamichi member who I voted for! I followed Nogi for a bit during the first half of 2022, with the 5th gens and Kaki's center single. I really like her ;w; She is such a positive girl, she's so natural, she's unintentionally funny, and I love her smile! like, the shape of her smile is so pretty. I'm glad that she's loved by fans!

Kashiwagi Yuki: I gave her 8 points (rank 4). She is the idol that I've liked for the longest time (since everyone else graduated from being idols) and no matter how many years pass, nothing changes, actually she even gets better with time lol. I know I call a lot of members as "perfect idols" but Yukirin is even above that. So many years and during all this time, she remained perfect as an idol and for any type of activity that idols do (performances, variety, singing, photoshoots etc.). I'm SO happy that she finally ranks in top 3, and at #2!!

Oguri Yui: I ranked her #1, and I gave her 15 points. and she won!! I actually didn't expect it, I'm so surprised. I'm happy that so many people are supporting Yuiyui ;w; She had a great year. She acted in 3 dramas, I watched 2 of them (I'll watch the 3rd one soon) and loved them, I also watched the special drama that she did for AKB (AD Oguri no Jikenbo). I love idols who act in dramas! She also had a photobook that had good sales. and she participated in the contest for the SR senbatsu, I actually supported her for this even though it was a bit complicated with timezones and the VPN but I still did it (first time I do it and probably last time lol), the fact that I made these efforts for her made me realize that she's indeed my #1! Also, at the end of the year, she had her debut with Team B and it was amazing, so enjoyable to watch. She literally shines on stage. I just love her!! Congrats Yuiyui for the win!!



This year's results are probably the best ever for me, with the member I ranked as #1 being the #1 in the results, and the member at #2 is also pretty much a #1 for me at heart...

Hikaru -> I put Ten, Karin and Hikaru lower than others because they are the most supported on my list, so I knew I could count on the few Sakukids around here and give more points to members who escape the radar of casual observers.
Like usual, they didn't disappoint.
Hikaru is one of those people who like challenges and does not step back from diving into them full force.
No matter what it is, she will do it and do it well.
She was chosen as the "new face" of Sakura and her performances exceeded espectations. Still, she keeps growing, gretting better, and working harder.
Like the genius of the lamp she is this incredible and unstoppable energy closed in the smallest package possible.
Ten is our present and future, but if you'd ask me on the spot who Sakura center is, my immediate answer would be Hikaru for sure.

Yui fan were eatting GOOD this year it was quite the journey in 2022... many ups and downs... yui was the idol I have the most hanashikai experience with... we talk about so many things.. even stuff that I don't like.. but she always know what to say to make me feel better No matter how conflicted I become, it's always been her... I don't know how much time we have left... You ever wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days before you've actually left them? Because that's where I am in right now!

Unlike previous years I really don't have many thoughtful things to say about my list-- I voted for my favorites, members that really caught my attention last year, and ones who graduated as a final hurrah. I started with the intention of having some kind of rules for my order, and then quickly threw that out the window.

I will say Mouri-san continues to be a blessing; for all the AKB girls I definitely got to know them so much better because of the show and some of them made my list because of it. Also big thanks to those keeping detailed updates about the 17th gen, too!

 

01. Oguri Yui (+15) she should be the face of AKB48. if management were ever to make a perma center it should be yuiyui. her personality is bit aloof that she holds herself apart from members but she is adored by the eitos. It's my opinion that maeda atsuko was accepted by fans and voted as center because she was the center of songs before the first election single. When yuiyui was still 18 years old it would have been the opportunity to select a management center and let it play out. as it is we will probably have a rotating center for some time to come.

02. Mittomo Mashiro (+10) streaming from her hidden fortress in Yamagata, she was the paisen AKB48 didn't deserve but we got anyway.

03. Yamamoto Mikana (+9) she brings a dark coolness to NMB48 and her beauty is going to bring attention to the group.

04. Ishida Chiho (+8) 3-time center, chiho is quirky and cute.

05. Nakai Rika (+7) awarded for her longevity with the group, and she is a beast in SHOWROOM and handshakes.

06. Satsuki Aika (+6) Aika looks like a living doll, her bangs never move, she is the current BII captain, a takarasuka fan, and she is getting outside experience from stage plays

07. Iwatate Saho (+5) another longevity award, she is a burriko but also a serious person. her plainclothes on nemousuTV were ripped jeans and a rocker muscle shirt. she's an entertainment veteran and seems like a really cool person to know irl

08. Tanaka Miku (+5) when a member graduates or another team on the big island steals the spotlight HKT48 can always rely on mikuboobs.

09. Sakata Misaki (+4) NMB48's genius 7th gen. she is also natually funny in variety and is already pulling along her seniors YNN programs.

10. Shiotsuki Keito (+4) when she smiles her eyes disappear. she has me fully convinced that she enjoys every moment on stage.

11. Jitoe Nene (+4) I very closely followed HKT48 1st and 2nd gens, then things really tailed off after the graduation of Sasshi and Lovetan. when I watch a HKT48 concert now, i find myself wondering, "who is that girl with the great smile and hair?" it's always Nene.

12. Suzuki Kokona (+3) SKE48 is getting left out, but I never forget kokona. she's weird.

13. Fukuno Ami (+3) ami is really cute and genuine. she has her own youtube channel and the content heals me.

14. Kumazaki Haruka (+3) this girl has the smallest waist in 48 and amazing hips.

15. Nishigata Marina (+2) hang in there gatanee you still have your fans

16. Homma Hinata (+2) supposedly the only "pure" girl of NGT48 1st gen.

17. Tani Marika (+2) I haven't forgotten Tani, I wish she was still in HKT48 or in AKB48 with Chiyori

18. Nakanishi Chiyori (+1) she has always been naturally funny and makes her every show appearance watchable.

19. Umeyama Cocona (+1) I miss cocona and her show with the plastic modeling. I am glad she is updating Instagram again.

20. Okamoto Hinako (+1) her head is really round, everything is round, give us that gravure already and get your career on track

 

the 2 members who, although did quite well in this year's rankings, aren't included in the rankings and nobody knows who they are

and I agree with you, that all Okamoto's (round and not round) should do gravure

 

I ranked 02. Hiichan as my ni-oshi for this year! People say Produce 48 did no good to 48G, but I didn't know Hiichan before the show, and she became my bias in IZ*ONE. She's been working really hard since coming back to AKB, and even though people kept saying she'd be the first of the three to graduate and return to Korea, she's now lasted the longest! She's continuously getting outside gigs, appearing as a model on runways as well as magazines, she's joined the same agency as my favourite Ori trio (Mama&Son Inc.), she's acted in some shows, one of which has become my favourite drama of 2022. Overall, she continues to soar in her career! I hope she gets another center position this year.

I've always quite liked 07. Zukky (Shitsuren, Arigatou is one of my favourite songs), but it's become more solidified since she's joined my oshi team, I've allowed myself to fully support her. I went to her hanashikai, and can vouch that Zukky really makes an effort with her fans. Unprompted, she's the only Japanese person I've ever met, be it online or in person, who has pronounced my name correctly. I also really want another center position for her, since she didn't really get to promote her own center that much, thanks to the pandemic.

P.S.: I know people prefer the spelling Zukkii, and so do I myself, but she herself uses Zukky, so I'll start using that from now on more often If she can get my name right, I can do the same for her.

05. Nako has been HKT's saving grace after Sakura's graduation and the hanashikai sales for the group's releases last year really proved that. I don't want to say HKT is worthless now, I still really love some other members, even if they're not in my ranking, but none have caught my attention as much as Nako. I believe out of the three Japanese members in IZ*ONE, she's stayed most true to herself. She didn't start styling herself in a more Korean way, unlike Hiichan, and while I don't think what Hiichan is doing is bad (she's after all my 2nd place), I'm happy that Nako still seems to be the same person as before.

I'm sad she's graduating, but I'm also excited for her future as an actress and hope she does well!

Congrats to 06. Naachan for making the top 3 this year despite the scandal!! I'm glad that the majority of people still appreciate her talent and efforts for the group, and all things considered, I hope for a nice and beautiful graduation concert. I doubt she will get another center position (she defo would've if she'd graduated on better terms), seeing how AKB has stayed entirely quiet on her situation, but I'm grateful I got at least one center position for a song I actually genuinely love. NmHmR will always have a special place in my heart

Ok, all is revealed so now is the time for me to reveal my rankings for this year:

01. Okada Nana (+15)
Despite ending the year (and her idol career) with a scandal she still is my nr 1. Gave up everything for the group but at the moment she found a bit of personal happyness was ignored by AKB management (which shows that members should get individual represantation asap). Still has great potential to have a reasonable solo career if her fans stick with her. A great loss for the group.

02. Murayama Yuiri (+10)
Is now a staple member of the group but seems the most happy in the support role of the centers of the group.
I am worried what will happen with her once Naachan has really left as they were so reliant on each others support.

03. Tanaka Miku (+9)
I realize that it has more to do with her physical qualities than her personality but managing to be always on the cover of atleast one magazine all the year round as a 48 member is still a noteworthy achievement. I just hope for her that she gets the chance to also show her other qualities in 2023 as I do find her quite funny.

04. Kashiwagi Yuki (+8)
No ranking list can be complete without including her. If 5 years ago anyone would have said she still be one of the most important members of the group at this moment in time then that person would have been declared insane but yet she is still here and doing great things.

05. Kamimura Hinano (+7)
Same reason as last year: being an oddball. Also grows in personality but without changing who or what she is.

06. Komiyama Haruka (+6)
She is like a fine wine, gets better and more beautiful the older she gets. Seems to have fitted in nicely in her new team A and continues to produce quality content on her instagram.

07. Yamauchi Mizuki (+5)
Ever since she centered she is on my radar. Would be my pick above Oguri Yui as a center (but seeing the vote results I am obviously wrong in that ).

08. Higashimura Mei (+5)
Even though I didn't rank her as high as Hinano I still consider her my current favourite 46 member. I hope she will get to be a staple contestant in Satsuke as that seems to be a great motivator for her.

09. Ma Chia-Ling (+4)
Has a great personality and seems to do what she wants to which also enhances her idollness. Whoever gets to eat her cooking is a lucky person.

10. Sasaki Mirei (+4)
11. Saito Kyoko (+4)
Both of these girls are always interesting and have their unique personalities that makes me just like them.

12. Taguchi Manaka (+3)
Being the youngest member of your team is already one thing but ALSO being the captain makes everything even harder. Despite being shy she still fights on and even started doing gravure which will be good for her self confidence and public awareness.

13. Shen Ying (+3)
Favorite team SH member.

14. Onishi Momoka (+3)
Feels to me as someone who gets noticed a lot more these days.

15. Omori Maho (+2)
16. Chiba Erii (+2)
These 2 are a younger version of YuuNaa (but without the relationship rumours). I like Maho slightly more because of her otaku personality but Erii fits great as a center. Maho might be an underdog for center positions.

17. Ishida Chiho (+2)
Most beautiful member in STU48 and also great as an idol in general. If STU had a perma center she would be it.

18. Takino Yumiko (+1)
Seems to have lots of little jobs. I have a feeling that she will have a future in television after her idol career.

19. Furuhata Nao (+1)
Appreciation vote for one of my all time favorite SKE members.

20. Otake Hitomi (+1)
Vote for managing to getting on my radar but I will admit that this is mainly because instagram kept suggesting her account in the discovery section.

As a sidenote: A top 3 without a single 46 member! A sign that now Nogizaka has lost their most popular members their popularity will go down in favor of Hinatazaka46? (Sakurazak46 is pretty much dead to me). Next years vote will be interesting for sure.
