    hmm.. well, at another tracker, we do have ppl posting H!P compilation videos (dvd-rips/iso/vob) up to 30-60gbs.. so doesn't surprise me that much anymore.. ^^; heh..

    edit:
    my office pc is a dell dimension, core2duo, vista(not! ..since i requested for winxp.. lol)
    my home is a core2duo, built with gigabyte mobo, gigabyte 7600gt video card.

    was planning to go quad.. but the price.. hm.. enough to get 2 core2duos.. heh heh.. ^^;

    edit(2):
    btw, i need a bit of help/advise. i'm also a computer tech support personnel. so anyone can recommend a laptop to me.. such as, brand name, what it should/should-not have.. etc.

    i'll give a bit of basic on myself, i'm the kind of guy that runs up-n-down whenever a client has a problem, i would usually refer to the internet if i cant solve it, and i also carry around a portable drive, thumb drives etc.

    so i was thinking of saving much time rather than going back to my pc to refer to some things, grab some tools, and my pc has most of my pentest tools etc.

    so any recommends thats sturdy enough to take on such pressure? or if not, just give me what i should look for, what to avoid. etc.

    for example, would u recommend a Sony Vaio laptop? gimme your experience (personal if possible, not online reading.. but if the article is convincing enough, paste it.. or pm me the link) etc.

    thx in advance. *thumbsup

    hmm... well my laptop is an ibm t61.. 2.2Ghz.. core duo, 2Gb ram, 160Gb harddisk, with intel turbo graphics chip. from experience i guess i would recommend something similar if you're really on the go. i have dropped my laptop twice, spilled coffee on it once, ice tea once too.. but all i had to do was tilt it, let it dry for few hours, and everything was good to go again.

    the only thing i hate about this is they forced me to have a vista business when i bought it from ibm japan (at half price due to my friend's employee discount, hehehe).

    and oh yeah, if you're the kind of guy who wants to have 2 hard disks (1 for windows, 1 for linux) cause dual boot is not enough for ya, i think i would also recommend this. and since it's all customer replaceable parts, you can just buy extra peripherals, or incase your dvd writer implodes, you can always just buy a new one and snap it in there.. no need for service centers.

    and if you need rougher laptops, i would recommend the toughbook series. don't have a personal experience with those things though, so you may have to find somebody who can answer your questions.

    i have about nearly 16gb of akb alone...of course backed it up on my ext hd, that is essential to back it all up..
    my H!P is nearly 20gb, but my AKB collection has grown significantly in the past year.
    backed up my H!P stuff onto dvd's, and ext hd too.

    ^ Youkokurama,

    mmmm.. IBM. heh, I have always looked in that direction but only thought of business(more like for meetings etc) uses. But heck since u mention all that, I'm convinced. ;)

    Hm, since I do have *extra budget, I'm going to shop for 2 laptops. 1st is the heavy use, and the IBM is among the options. The 2nd is for the quick-go.. file-transfer-copy, quick-internet-browsing, music-bla-bla-etc, which I'm looking at those small laptops, *almost tablet, but not really.

    I just saw one of those "kohjinsha" stuff.. just google to get an idea. ^^

    My computer(s) is nothing too special. I currently have two computers that I use: a primary desktop computer for gaming and such, and a laptop that I use quite a bit for my college classes, and for just surfing the internet. My desktop computer was custom built during last summer:

    Desktop:
    OS: Windows Home edition SP2
    RAM: 2GB
    Video Card : NVIDIA GeForce 8600
    Hard Drive 200GB
    Processor : Intel Core 2 Duo (forget what number and GHz though)
    Monitor: Samsung 20" Syncmaster 206BW
    Keyboard: Logitech G15

    Laptop:
    OS: Windows Home SP2
    RAM: 1GB
    Video Card: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950
    Hard Drive: 100GB
    Processor: Intel Core Duo Processor T2300 (1.66GHZ, 667MHz FSB, 2MB L2 cache)
    Screen: 15.4" WXGA CrystalBrite TFT LCD

    I'm probably going to replace the GFX card on my desktop within the year, probably with whatever happens to be the best GeForce card at the time.
