Single AKB48 41st [Halloween Night] 15/08/26

I am pretty sure that GAME (song one)(and other only-album songs) isn't more important (for non Perfume-fans) than A-sides and even some B-sides (FAKE IT, Edge) and they never perform it on TV except Music Day

Imagine if AKB and Kyary performed Halloween song together

 

My opinions to the B-Sides:

Undergirls: I really like the song and the PV. I like the nametags because I don't know the names of every girl in the PV, so they are very helpful for me. The PV is really cute.

Next Girls: I kinda like the dancing in the water, not sure about the song though.

Future Girls: The song is nice and Sato Sumire is a gorgeous bride, but the PV is boring.

Upgoming Girls: Reminded me a bit of last years UG song. Very forgettable.

 

Oops, forget to list my favourites. But on first impressions they are
IO -> HN -> UnG -> FuG -> NG -> UpcG

 

Kouhaku is when people perform their best releases of that year, it doesn't particularly matter what season the song is from (MnSG and Katyusha have been performed), and AKB has yet to reuse outfits for Kouhaku, so I'm fairly certain we won't be seeing those exact same monster costumes... They may not be performing HN, but its almost a given that the performance would be a well-known song or A-side. They released Ippome Ondo to have it performed on Kouhaku? Jokes.

Anyway, a good case for HN to be performed is that for A-sides this year its probably the only one that can be performed simultaneously by 80+ girls. BwT would be a mess onstage and its probably the same logic last year when they did KnP. Or maybe they just insist on performing the SSK single.

 

After 5 odd MomoClo vrs AKB posts - I had to jump in- lol. MomoClo is nowhere the presence that AKB (48G) is in Japan. I doubt the average Japanese citizen can correct pick 2 MomoClo girls out of a line-up & those same people can probably pick 5 (or More) current AKB (or 48G) gals out in under a minute. I personally wonder what's happened to MomoClo. Plus they have "Segregated Concerts" - No Creepy WOTA's allowed. Girls only night & Family Only night- I could see do that maybe once a year - but what message does that send to the 'early adopting WOTA's' that paid your bills during 2011-2013

AKB has always been ALL inclusive. In advertising & tickets & handshakes ect. I personally think MomoClo better watch it's back because Crayon Pop is coming on Strong! (a VERY popular Korean vers of what MomoClo is)- and they have more complicated dances & songs. Plus and this may sound "cruel"

Kanako looks like a dude, Shiori is so skinny she's looking manly, Ahrin is looking a tad 'plump'...Reni is still awesome in my opinion, But geez- How Momoka become the Cute one?- Yeah I'm a Jerk! I think you blame Piracy on poor sales of ANYTHING that can be digitized - look all the shows & fan-subbing we enjoy. I don't MomoClo & AKB are remotely in the same league- There's got to be other Idol groups more popular than MomoClo but less than AKB

 

MomoClo is currently the second Top Idol Group in Japan right now, only after Perfume. Yes, even above AKB48. Just sayin'.

You'd think making a collab with Kiss of all people would totally raise the powerlevels amirite. I'm not complaining doe *blasting Yume no Ukiyo ni Saitemina at 11 in the evening while drawing*.

 

I have no idea if that's true, but if it is... how is that different from the "girls only day" that AKB do at the theater?
I think it's just a way of letting other people have a chance at seeing them. If it depended on those "creepy WOTAs" they'd be at every single event/concert their fav group does pushing aside every new fan who tried to make their way in, so... yeah.

IIRC, MomoClo is like the second girl group (after AKB) to perform at Nissan Stadium (where AKB held the election in 2013), which is the largest stadium in Japan. They are also doing a dome tour next year, which can only mean there's a huge demand to see them.

There's got to be other idol groups more popular than MomoClo but less than AKB? I guess that would be Perfume (even though they're not really idols).

Sales-wise nobody is in the same league as AKB simply because of how their system is built, but saying they don't have opponents in popularity...

 

I doubt they will perform Halloween Night. They will probably perform the 42nd single - which we all know will be centered by Takamina. Why do I think this? Takamina made a big deal about performing with them one last time on Kouhaku last year.

The data are out long ago. But it's no longer meaningful. AKB recently somehow always has so much increasingly unpaying customers that resale rounds are needed. From 1, to current 3.
To me it would be more meaningful now if people tally the slots sold out after resale rounds, and only use it in subsequent single comparison.

I know this wasn't at me, but maybe this could work? The article is two years old, but I doubt things have changed much (apart from Berryz disappearing lol).

 

Crayon Pop peaked with Bar Bar Bar and have been nose diving in 'popularity' ever since. They are essentially at this moment in time, a one hit wonder.

Also, their Japanese debut has bombed and their 'Japan-only' member has disappeared (I presume she's been fired because they probably can't afford to have another member).

I mean, at least Momoclo sold pretty decently with their debut single, and they had no failing hype train to lead it, either. And even now, with Momoclo having seemingly hit their peak, are curb stomping Crayon Pop in terms of sales.

This is still going to be off topic, but look at the Nikkei Ent chart and see where Momoclo is versus AKB. The only other girl group even close to their standing is Perfume, which will probably fade if they don't stop being so inactive.

AKB is widely known - their popularity is nowhere near Momoclo, though, and we take a distant third place versus the top two (Perfume and Momoclo).

Yeah dome tours basically mean everything - Momoclo is able to do many tour rounds at places like Nissan Stadium, whereas AKB hasn't really been able to. And this from a person who's written off Momoclo in terms of music (I think they are long, LONG past their peak).

This is actually kind of meaningful - doesn't this mean this is their highest HS rounds for a non-voting single?

 

Ippome Ondo is so slow and boring though. There are so many Japanese festival style songs that are energetic, lots of loud drumming, faster pace, shouting "wasshoi!" and stuff like that. They could have made this song fun and something to pump up the crowd but they didn't.
