Single SKE48 18th (Maenomeri) (8/12/2015)

Honestly, I don't think people realize just how impactful Rena not doing HS is. She was always the #1 seller of HS (even more than my own Kami-oshi, Jurina) and to have her be completely absent from the single is a huge chunk of sales (what was the calc again? 60 slots an hour, 10 per each slot, times 35, roughly 21k singles sold?).

This is quite the respectable number.

She hunted down that one, you can tell there's another single in the Tsutaya bag. Go guerrilla PR!

 

Aren't slots 90 minutes long? Or is that just AKB and SKE has 60m ones?
Still, 20k copies is an important number for the sister groups (and maybe now to AKB too, since they're barely holding on to the 1 million mark).

 

Rena has always been the no 1 in SKE and the no 2 in 48G when it comes to HS

her sales and amount of fans that want to HS with her is no joke

so sales dropping shouldn't be a surprise tbh

 

You're probably right - I probably recalled wrong. The correct adjustment would be something like 31.5k

 

Last single contained a music card which make each single was counted double in March. (it's no longer counted a week later) That's why the number was high.
I think 300k is an okay sale figure for current situation of SKE.

 

I'm so happy Nozomi is selling so well!! And Jurina's so cute buying her cd with Rena in the cover plus getting a WMatsui photo, my OTP is so precious.

 

Yea SKE will never reach nogi levels again. From now on they can hope to go between 300-400k only.

Even without rena hs sales I thought it would get 325-350k first day, so this is lower than expected.

 

Even SKE in their peak didn't reach 700k


Anyway i think it's a pretty good first day sales.

Now that I've heard everything in full, I really don't like any of the b-sides :-/ So for me, Maenomeri is the only good track on this single. Ouch. NMB's last single SLAYED in terms of b-sides, so I guess it was SKE's turn to take the duds.

They really had some gems though. Halation, Darkness, Through the Night, Zakuro, Kesenai Honoo, Sayonara Kinou no Jibun, etc

 

I don't think the songs that you liked in the past would have suited this single. I actually thought, given this single's theme, that the B-sides were perfect for the type of single it was (graduation single).

 

I agree; the B-sides complemented Maenomeri's tone.

How on earth do the Dreaming Girls, Team S, and Team KII songs go with Maenomeri in any way?

This might sell like the 12-kangaroo single at the end of the week~~Still good tho~
