Halloween Night: When I first heard it, I was kinda like "wtf?" It's really grown on me, though. And I keep watching the MV, it's super fun and the costumes are great.
Sayonara Surfboard: I like both the song and the MV a lot. The song' has a nice, calm summer feel I enjoy. I like the screentime distribution in the MV and it has so many beautiful shots! Doesn't hurt a lot of my favorites are in this group
Mizu no Naka no Dendouritsu: I'll probably have this song on loop. I don't know why people are so upset about the MV? I thought it was somewhat artfully done and it's no worse than Ambulance or Juujun na Slave (which had some considerably younger girls). That being sad, I thought it was pretty cheap looking so I wasn't really a fan. The girls looked really pretty though!
Kimi ni Wedding Dress wo...: The MV was so cute! Song was alright, but not my favorite.
Kimi Dake ga Akimeiteita: Simple MV, but it worked really well. Not gonna lie, I don't remember the song at all. Maybe I need to give it some more listens, but that's not a good sign.
Ippome Ondo: I liked the song at first, but then it just felt too repetitive and long. Pretty basic MV, but it's always nice seeing the girls in yukata.
Yankee Machine Gun: Made me hyped up for Majisuka Gakuen 5! SAYANEE WITH GUNS!! Lol but I always like the Majisuka Gakuen songs and this one didn't break the trend.

Yeah I was confused at that too. I assumed the second one? Who knows lol

Aoi looks gorgeous. Lemon with lemons, lol. Ueki~~~~ The dance outfit is nice.
I hope this songs gets in RH so that I can see more of the dance. Otherwise I'd say the song itself is nice, but probably the weakest among the SSK B-sides.
As for the ending: I think its just the girls are happy they finally let go of the relationship that didn't work out and the driver and the guide are happy for them and they're touched? While the girls are a bit embarassed about the clapping?

about this entire NG vs Ambulance thing: one of the reasons why I didn't like Ambulance: yes, I felt like those nurse outfits were waaaaaaaay fetish-y for my own taste. The NG thing with water is a nice idea, but the chairs were 'lol wut'. I have to agree that some girls looking uncomfortable during the entire yuri-ish part. Tbh, I wished they didn't do it, but the water PV-concept is a great idea in itself imo.

 

next girls pv looks great! they all look like they're having fun and it was really sensual. I just don't like the mesh-things on their faces, that was kind of weird.


pedophilia and exploitation? While I'm glad you took time out of sunday school to post that, you are so far from reality its not even funny. (well it is a little funny lol). I guess that is what happens on a website with majority of western views about a culture that they don't understand, but still. Do the research. Only 3 of those "exploited girls" are under 18 (17 years old each). And by the way, in most countries 16 is the legal age, not 18. You can technically marry in Japan from age 13. While the legal age of consent for sex varies throughout the country, 17 is the minimum in Tokyo, and 16 for most of it.

I don't think anyone here straight up said the Next Girls PV was pedophilia, right? Although I do believe 48 caters to pedophiles occasionally, the underage aspect wasn't really a problem here imo. It just all felt so acted, cheap, fake and a lazy attempt to appeal to a certain part of the fandom They couldn't have made a less sexy sensual PV if they tried imo.

Not a great fan of calling people uptight or salty because they don't agree with you on a 48 music video.

 

Age of consent in the US is trickier than what you have shown there @kyoto48☀☂. But that is a rather rant-y discussion for another place and time.

it's so catchy and they had really nice costumes to match their performances!

But I was just trying to say (in a rant that ended up too long... sorry, blame the wine lol) that it is wrong to say "any member in that pv under 18 years old = exploitation of a minor/pedophilia". And that the laws of consent are not 18 years old everywhere (which I feel people forget way too often).

@Discothèque There were a couple people who posted about exploitation of minor/pedophilia, and there was also a poster who said they were "catering to old men who are getting off on these young girls", which is really a bad stereotype as well. Do those poster's really feel like only old men like to watch this video?

I just wanted to point out that the youngest member in that video is 17, so acting like it is a U-15 gravure video or child porn is taking it waaay to far.

UG: I don't really like the song, it reminds me to Summer Time and various other summer themed 48 song. The MV is refreshing tho
NG: I really like the song, but not really fond of the MV. They tried to go Ambulance/Juujun na Slave and failed miserably. If the throw away the GL action, it could be a lovely PV with those underwater take
FG: Everyone looked really pretty in the MV, especially Suuchan!
Ippome Ondo: Personally i like these kind of enka-pop (?), i do think that i will get tired/bored with the song after a while. Everyone looked so pretty in yukata!

My thoughts about the full PV's

Undergirls: I really like the song and the PV. The raining scene is amazing. I also like how all the girls get a lot of screen time.
Next Girls: I'm not sure what to think about it. I like the melody of the song, but not the song itself
Future Girls: I like the storyline, Suuchans weddingdress and the song is good too.
Upgoming girls: I don't get the whole story but the song is nice and all the girls look good in the PV.

I actually like the songs more now that I've heard the full songs.

 

So now I've gotten a chance to listen to all the songs in full quality..

And I think this single is quite perfect. They covered their bases quite well.

I think Halloween Night is a legendary a-side for AKB. Like seriously, what a bop. It's so well made. It has as much replay value as Momusu's Kono Chikyuu. That's the beauty of disco, the replay value is pretty great. They really pulled all the strings to put together a great, enjoyable night Good for Sasshi!

Sayonara Surfboard is quite good. I love the overall feel of the song. It's very warm and fond And I LOVE that chorus. This is my favorite UG line-up of all time. Mina and Okada were surprises for me! The song itself reminds me of Oide Shampoo from Nogizaka46

I like Mizu no Naka's PV more than the song. I think it's very eyecatching and it really suits Miru. The song itself is good, albeit a bit noisy. That chorus is PERFECT though, when the guitar comes in! It reminds me of Team N's recent song during the chorus.

Wedding Dress is a cute song. I love the melody, and the chorus really sets the song off. It's good, but probably my least favorite.

Ippome Ondo isn't quite my cup of tea, since I always thought H!P did this style a little better because they made it more quirky and appealing.

Kimi Dake ga.. I LOVE THIS SONG. I'm a sucker for these sweet, easygoing songs like this and Dareka Ball! I love that sentimental feel.

 

Saving the MV's for when I get my CD's (but ya'll made me curious about the Wedding Dress song and the Water-song lol)~~

I really didn't mind the B-sides this year. They remind me of Last year's tho, so I make no promises I'll actually listen to them by next month. Of course HN is my jam, so that'll stay on my ipod for a long time lol. As a big fan of Hajimete no Drive, anything similar I tend to love, so Sayonara was already going to be a fav of mine, musically. The rest were ok. We got our electronic-sexy song, a sweet ballad song, and a typical medium-tempo-ballad-ish idol song.

They covered a lot in one single, so I feel like they were trying to make everyone happy lol. I love Ippome tho lol. Yankee machine gun is ok. I might listen to it randomly, but it's not something I'd put on my ipod. I'm not as disappointed as I thought I'd be. I look forward to the insert photo's (please let everyone be in their costumes lol)

 

Just a word from the oldest? ossan on this forum. NG MV in the Sloppy lagoon is boring and have nothing to bring us elderly men. Maybe for teenagers.
