Public recognition is about member who can express their skill.
Just like sashi in her Variety. Unfortunately I don't get any candidate that good at Variety in AKB48 and that is sad

Even if they have the skills they dont have the outlet to show it.

The current members who are good at variety aren't exactly popular, the best way to make the popular members' skills show is just through outside work. If Miion ends up getting pushed again, I think the general public will like her even more

True, but they wouldn't have added new gens to basically EVERY group (except for NGT, and I'm hoping that'll come this year) when they're not sure about the longevity of the franchise.
Again, as long as the SG sell around 300k and AKB keeps the million streak (and adding STU, they will), everything will be fine.

To create known members like the first gens you need to create a front line that will stay the same for years. That's why Acchan was the immovable center and the senbatsu stayed almost the same for years, they wanted to create an image for the group.

With AKB being a household name, it's not needed anymore. People know girls come and go, but they know the name of the group. That's what's important.

To be honest, apart from Jurina and Sakura, I feel the next big name is going to be Naachan. Not because she's my oshi, but I feel STU + Sasshi is going to put her in the spotlight. And since she has a quite unique style nowadays... I can imagine all the schoolgirls in Japan going moeee at her lol

    ANYWAY
It seems a couple of STU girls are already selling out slots, so good for them! :D

    ^^ Splendid!
Look at those sold out slots~
STU start selling theirs and bunch of HKT. NMB being the least tho (exclude STU), NGT even beat them. Another sign NMB would be doomed this SSK.

@RedBug HS sales don't equal votes though

    Moekyun sold out.
    Renacchi didn't.
Check their ranks from last year lol

It will look good on paper even if they don't visit the girls because they paid for it so that's what matters to them.

Hmm. No Mogi? She usually sells at least one slot in normal singles.

Members have commented on this before, it's quite a knock to their confidence when they think they have sold out slots but then they have mostly-empty lanes come the HS event.

Probably because they gave her max slots?
I'm wondering, who people usually buy in this voting single? If you can come to the HS event, sure, you'll probably by HS for your oshi. But if you can't come to the HS event (just want to buy votes), is it still better to buy a lot of HS for your oshi and leave her dry at the actual HS event or buy HS from other member that you don't have emotional attachment to her?

If I cannot come to HS and just want to buy votes, I will buy theater editions only. But that's just me. Idk other people may want to see the girls more than me and seeing an empty line after having their hope up with the paper results may make the girls really sad.
