I know @ForrestFuller posted the data from Round 4 of the handshake sales above, but here it is in an easier to read format along with more context for those new to reading these data charts. Credit to akb48memo for all data, all I did was put it next to data from Rounds 1-3 and made it prettier in Google Docs.

(See here for an uncompressed image)

    How to Read:
    • It's listed from most sales to least, with the second deciding factor being speed. Members not shown haven't sold out a single slot.
    • The "schedule" is a new thing management is trying with this single. All members are given 24 slots (4 slots per day over 6 days) instead of popular members getting more slots and less popular members getting fewer as before. Now, your popularity in management's eyes is decided by whether you're on the A or B schedule. If you're Schedule A, you're at least somewhat popular - all slots are the standard 1 1/2 hours long, and hence, you can see more fans. If you're Schedule B, management is not expecting much out of you; your slots are all only 1 hour long. Because of this, even if a member is sold out, a member on Schedule A that sells out is more impressive than a member on Schedule B that sells out.
    • A member is highlighted in green as soon as they sell out and there is no further data. As you can see, Sayanee sold out Round 1, Sakura Round 2, etc.
    • Data for each round, if they sold out anything, is put next to Round 4, which is the most recent round. You can see whether the members went from 0 to 24 in one round or a more gradual process.
The reason I decided to make my own version of akb48memo's data was because Round 4 is the "test" of sorts for the sousenkyo single, being the first round with multiple applications. In Rounds 1-3, each person was limited to a certain amount of applications to ensure everyone had a fair shot at the most popular members before they immediately sold out. Round 4 is the free for all in which you're allowed to put in unlimited applications and that's why all of a sudden the list blows up in the number of people selling out slots.

You're not going to see too much more change in Round 5 because all the people who wanted tickets most likely already bought them in Round 4. It'll just be the people who still need more votes or those who lost more than they expected in the previous round and need some members to fill up their days (like me, damn that 73/1250 (5.8%) win rate with Mikurin, now I need hundreds of Aki/Oimochan tickets :gavel:).

Witchcraft did exist. Past page summed up this very well. :awesome:

Too bad we can't measure the percentage of people actually coming to these HS lines.

Ouch to everyone that got schedule B especially to some members that have been in the group for years. They are mostly kenkyuusei but still. It's like, "we don't really need you but we'll still give you slots to please your fans"

The difference between A and B shouldn't be that big though.

If someone in A sells out 24 slots, they're selling around 13k copies.
Someone in B would sell a bit less than 9k.

4k copies isn't that big of a difference, imo. And I guess girls will swap between A and B depending on their performance.

Damn, I hope Moekyun's aren't just empty sales.

Surely if you just want a bunch of votes, you pick a) girls who don't usually sell out, AND b) girls you are also slightly interested in? I guess it depends whether you bother to go to the handshakes at all - but if not, don't you just get the theater edition whatever option has no handshakes?

I'm really glad she's sold out, but I just hope people actually visit her at these handshakes and actually vote for her as well!

I think there is a limit of hiw many tickets you can enter for a slot including the 2 photos option. Also might as well just pick a girl just in case you feel like want to handshake with her, if you dont feel like it on that day no problem.

I've seen other people refer to theater editions as some separate thing from handshake sales too, so let me clarify - theater editions ARE handshakes sales.

And yes, most people are indeed going to the handshakes, otherwise they would just buy the 2-photo option. Whether the votes actually go to her, however, remains to be seen. I would probably say no. Unless she got some really, really rich fans recently, there's no way to explain the jump from Shoot Sign to here. More than likely, those votes are either going to be sold or they're going to those people's actual oshimen.

That's also assuming the people who bought all the Moekyun tickets actually pay. We'll see after Round 1 of resales whether she remains completely sold out.

Technically, there is no limit to how many tickets you can use in one slot, they just reserve the right to arbitrarily shorten the time for you if you have way too many. For example, if a ticket normally gives you 7 seconds, they can just decide to give you 6 seconds per ticket instead to move the line along faster. I can't say I've ever witnessed them doing that though.

For round 4 to 8, per application (of unlimited applications) you can apply max 5 ticket per slot, up to maximum of 10 different slots.

From what I can gauge this song seems to be recieving majority positive response yet I can't tell if it'll sell well in Japan. Are these types of songs liked there?

According to this, obviously people will be applying for handshakes rather making multiple applications to apply for 2 photos option only, which is my point.
