What is a group hi -touch?

 

Like a handshake event but quicker + high fives instead of handshakes. Quote from this blog:

A Hi Touch is one of your best chances to see your idols up close and personal. Basically, the idols stand on one side of the table, hand up, palm out, poised and ready. You are in a line of people. All the fans file past the idols, giving each one a high five, blurting out the most important thing they ever wanted to say to their faves, if you can get your brain to work that fast!

I thought that's what individual hi touch was for? So group hi touch, they're doing it with 3 people or more?

Basically you were right except it's groups of 4 instead of 3 members for 1 ticket.
There's six combinations of groups. Ex. Group W is sakura, yujin, hyewon and chaewon.
Because of the time/stacking/application restrictions, people have been prioritizing these over the individual-HT so they're selling out faster.

 

Thanks I thought it was like 2-3fans with one member of iz one since you choose the group hi touch based on a girl' name

Its the opposite, 1 Group hitouch costs 4 CD and you can hitouch all 4 members in that group. Its more efficient than the individual hitouches since you only have to line up once instead of 4 times for the same price.

 

Well the small trade-off for the G-HT is the slight limitation to member selection as you are limited to who is in the group you choose.
I think Chaeyeon only has 1 I-HT sold out which is the 2nd slot for the first day but this will likely increase after this round.

I calculated the HT and Box-set applications to already exceed 200,000 cds (assuming most are eventually paid for) with liberal estimates of 5 seconds per I-HT, 10 seconds per G-HT and 30 seconds per signature. They still have a gimmick for the regular versions which is the lottery for the showcon for pre-orders.

 

Is it just me or the way I see it that at current pace, it's like almost a shoe-in for at least half mil opening day (or more)

Ok I really love this song. I think it fits the group perfectly. I just hope the group loosens up a bit to really embody the song. My main criticism with LVR (other than it didnt fit the group) is that they were way too stiff. You could line up the performances side by side and the girls would make the same facial expressions - the only difference between them was the clothes. Once you saw one performance you saw them all and it got boring quickly. To sell this song they need to look like they are enjoying it and relax their faces.

Overall 9/10. I would have liked a more dynamic bridge part - although I' m not a fan of rap maybe something like that. The costumes are cute but the skirts could have been a couple inches longer. It is a bit one tone but it overall is a bop and I think it'll do well. Probably about 300,000 copies or so. I might even consider buying this.

 

Did some maths on the Japan CD sales estimate, tldr I think we can look for at least 400k sales or more.


Individual Hitouch
50 minute per slot = 3000 seconds/slot
1 hitouch would be around 3 secs start to finish = 1000CDs/slot
Max sales 204 slots = 204,000 CDs (17,000/member)
Now sold out 62 slots = 62,000 (excluding the tickets sold in the non-sold out slots)

Group Hitouch
70 minute per slot = 4200 seconds/slot
Faster since they waste less time getting people in and out of the booth, say 20% faster so 1680 x 4 = 6720 CDs/slot
Total 18 slots = 120,960 CDs (the last one will very likely be sold out anyways)

Fansigns
60 minute per slot = 3600 seconds/slot
Assuming its 30 seconds per ticket = 1,560 CDs/slot (3 x 13 = 39 secs but they probably round them down)
Total 60 slots = 93,600 CDs (7,800/member) - ALL SOLD OUT

Conclusion
If they sold everything out, the sales from Iz*one official shop will be around 400k - 420k but from the current result, the sales are at least 270k (excluding sales from non-sold out slots). However, this estimate does not include regular pre-orders from online and offline stores, so we are realistically looking at around 400k+ sales for the debut single (70k-80k normal copies should not be a reach)

For I-HT, they count the time from when you enter the booth, walk up to the member, maybe say a greeting and then do the hi-touch. Once that person is on the way out, that's the only time the next person is allowed to go in the booth. So it's probably 4-5 seconds.

Also, I-HT is 50 minutes, the G-HT is 70 minutes and the fansign is 60 minutes.

I think it will be 300,000+ as a conservative estimate.
I calculated 245,040 for the sold out slots using 5 sec per person for I-HT, 10 sec for G-HT and 30 sec for fansign.

 

Does it take that long to do the hi-touch tho? I would imagine the layout would be different than HS, which could make it quicker.

I'm assuming they'll be inside a booth and only one person at a time will be let in. But if the fans are in just one line and can enter the booth on their own as the line progresses, then your 3 sec estimate would be more appropriate. Same with the G-HT. And the fansign can also be 20 seconds instead of 30 if the girls are not writing long messages. I'm thinking it's better to have a lowball estimate and have the actual results (far) exceed it.

But I think it's good that we have different time estimates so we can see the numbers using these different variables.

 

i like the full version of the song.. it's kind of old school, but it also made me a bit nostalgic to older Jpop/anime songs.. but the choreo seems just okay.. nothing special.. but overall i like their Japanese debut.. the estimated sales number aren't looking bad either so it's all good

 

i must be the only one loving the choreo esp the first part where they dance with the legs (wonyoung made a mistake here thou) and the parT where they walk across one another
