Graduation announcements thread

I'm very sad to hear the news especially as it's so soon after Ryoha's graduation announcement (and indeed I've been recently considering Rara as a replacement SKE-oshimen) but it actually doesn't surprise me all that much. She isn't scheduled for any of the 'Sustainable' HS events so I assumed she was taking at least another hiatus and maybe therefore graduation wasn't too far away although I didn't think she'd announce it quite so soon. She told me at HS back in April that last year she'd spent some time last year studying at Oxford University and I hope so much that maybe she can now go there full-time, it would be an incredible opportunity for her. However wherever she'll be studying I wish her very Good Luck and I'm sad that SKE48 will be losing such a fluent English speaker.

 

OUCH. This hurts so bad after Ryoha. She was my fave in gen 7.

Yeah... the number of STU grads at the moment seems strange to me.

how stu members have announced graduation this year then?

Mizoguchi Aiko (March 10), Sano Haruka (April 13), Sugahara Saki (May 6). These are graduation dates.
The rest are Kadota Momona (announced June 4th), Yura Akari (announced June 30th), Ichioka Ayumi (Announced July 1st), Torobu Yuri (announced August 1st), Mori Kaho (announced August 2nd).

Not counting Sasshi who ended concurrency, the other members who graduated since STU's formation in 2017:

Kuroiwa Yui (graduated November 18, 2017 to focus on studies)
Ozaki Mami (graduated March 25th, 2018)
Cho Orie (graduated April 13th, 2018 to focus on studies)
Shioi Hinako (graduated July 2018)


And it's very puzzling why so many have announced graduation this year. All but Aiko, Saki, and Momona have been in senbatsu for the main A sides of their singles.

 

Maybe it's because they've been Kenkyuusei for over 2 years and no news on team SIII (or SII?). Did they even get the boat? Are they performing their 1st stage? I think the girls expected to debut like every other SG... but they didn't. Also, don't kks get paid less and have some silly rules to follow?

 

Wait, what?!

 

This might contribute to their decision.

STU48 isn’t going to go off a team system and after 2 years I don’t understand why people still believe they are (not trying to be rude here but people keep bringing it up often about why haven’t they been promoted). On their own website, the girls aren’t listed as KKS. Only 4 are, the rest are listed as 1st generation.

 

Which I think it's stupid, IMO.
That's the whole point of the 48G since the beginning? If they wanted to go by gens, they could have called it Setozaka46 or something.

Ohwell, surprised with Kaho cause she was one of the most famous faces before the debut.

 

STU is probs going through growing pains, the members that don't graduate this year and the next are the ones who will become the true household names of the group. The ones that found out Idol life wasn't like any sort of cushy dream and still decided to stay for the long haul. I only pray that Takino will be among them coz she's the main weight carrier there.

Isn't it common to have this sort of constant graduation phase for 1st gens where the recruitment drive is much bigger than in the next ones?

Hhaha, that would've been epic, maybe would make me decide to pay any attention to Sakamichi series.
