Looks like I can only watch one of Band Maid or Egoist kn AFA ID because I had spent so much money. Seems I should watch Egoist because I missed their previous appearance on AFA ID and looks like AFA is the most possible event that can invite them meanwhile I believe Band Maid can come to Jakarta again on any other major Japanese festival.

Report on Band-Maid at the Echoplex in LA on September 30 My trip to see Band-Maid got off the an inauspicious start. I went to pickup my granddaughter at her high school at 5 as I do every Monday after her extra after hours class. She didn’t come out at the usual time, and then I noticed that no one else was coming out. I texted and called, only to find out that neither my daughter nor my granddaughter had told me that there was no school on Sept 30 (Rosh Hashanah). The drive from the Valley to Echo Park was pretty easy, and I was there in plenty of time (I got there at 6:15 - doors open at 7, concert at 8), but parking was a real pain. The neighborhoods around the Echoplex are all “local permit only” after 8 pm, so it took me almost 30 minutes to find a parking space where I could leave my car. Not knowing the neighborhood, there was a lot of random driving around. When I first drove by, I could see a line, and by the time I parked and walked the five minutes to get there, it had grown quite a bit. Here is the back half of the line when I got in it (and it continued to grow after). Doors actually opened at 7, but it took a while to get through security in batches of about 20. In spite of the fact I am over 70, I got carded when I said I was going to have a drink. The security guy said he would be fired if he didn’t card me and I turned out to be an undercover snitch (not his exact words) for LiveNation. Once inside, the first place to go is the goods table. After getting my shirt, I got a Golden Road Wolf Pup IPA at the bar (I needed it after the stress of finding a parking spot). The concert started pretty promptly, at about 8:05. Because the EchoPlex is in a basement, there are many pillars holding up the building, and getting a clear view of the stage was difficult if you weren’t one of the first ones in (I wasn’t). It was also quite dark, so getting good pictures with my not-so-new cell phone was difficult. It turns out, even the picture from their official twitter isn’t much better than the ones I took. Theirs: https://twitter.com/bandmaid/status/1178930907580747777 They took a break at 8:45, but didn’t leave the stage while Miku did her half-English half-Japanese patter. She lead us in cheers of “We love Japan,” “We love USA,” and “We love Band-Maid.” Kanami’s birthday was September 28, so they brought out a Happy Birthday balloon and we all sang happy birthday to her. They resumed playing after 15 minutes and continued until 9:55 (it was advertised as 8 - 10). There was no encore; the just put down their instruments and left the stage. I had seen them once before in San Francisco in 2017 at J-Pop Summit, and, as I did then, I really liked Kanami’s guitar playing. My shirt: P.S. I don't know their songs so don't ask; I just like that they rock.
If you blow up my picture, you can see $40 for the short sleeved shirts (the two in the middle), $50 for the long sleeved one, and $65 for the zip-up hoodie. I guess it doesn't really show up in the posted one, but does in the original. P.S. I hope you can get better pictures to post tomorrow.
Thanks, gives me a good idea for how much to bring. I'll see what I can do about photos, hopefully I can get a couple of good ones. ----------------------------------------- I'll just add to this post even though I'm past the double-post time limit. The photos I took sucked. Here are the best two that I had: The story with this one is during Miku's omajinai time, a group of fans up front who coordinated something earlier in the day, held up a photo of Akane with a sign that said "Please do not feed the gorilla with beautiful and wonderful bananas". This was when Akane was behind her kit snacking on one. Miku took a closer look at the photo and took one from one of the fans to take a closer look and in her best english read the sign. They all got a laugh out of it and eventually that photo was taped to Akane's kit. Saiki had come back later, and although we couldn't see her expression, I'm sure she had a WTF look when she finally saw the photo.

And coming to a tv screen soon. They will appear in the Netflix film Kate. "In November 2019, it was announced that the all-female Japanese rock band Band-Maid would appear in the film. Filming commenced on September 16, 2019 and concluded in November 2019. Shooting locations include Thailand, Tokyo, Japan, and Los Angeles, California." [They might have shot Band Maid's part while in LA at the end of September] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kate_(film) Story in Oricon: "BAND-MAID's worldwide distribution album “CONQUEROR”, a five-member female band based on the concept of “band x maid,” ranked 11th on the US Billboard World Albums chart. In April this year, the company partnered with the global live event "Live Nation", and in November signed a contract with the global booking agency "United Talent Agency", which also handles ONE OK ROCK and BABY METAL. Netflix's new Hollywood movie "Kate" has attracted a lot of buzz in every direction, including appearing as BAND-MAID with love call directed by Cedric Nicholas-Troyan." https://www.oricon.co.jp/confidence/special/54152/
