Why, but that is some interesting data indeed, my friend, pardon my "you can not guess intent" post lol

But still strategic positive voting is fine IMO, think of it as a moral victory when you got so many girls to like and such a diverse votes spread all around for them making sure so much of the huge cast of 48G is voted while the other group needs to make their shots count;)

My issue is with the policy and reasoning behind allowing or not negative votes (which is basically an anything-goes one anyway, too loose to make sure people won't negative vote for superficial reasons or just to bring down a strong contender from the other camp).

But as always, I do give my reasons like I gave when discussing 100-post requirement last year and leave it all to @kanjo since he's the man with the data and also the MVP here, it's really damn cool to take the time out of your day to organize this and to give us the revealing moments which are all the fun in this, in fact.

So let me say thanks for doing all this and not be caught simply whining and arguing, thanks @kanjo

Here's to a nice next year with another close dispute between 48G and Sakamichi (and no negatives for Hana-chan, Yurina and Yuiyui you f :censored: s)

    3rd Place - Okada Nana
I voted for Okada as the AKB hope. I don't feel bad for my strategic voting since she did genuinely deserve it from a merit perspective, being such a hard and devoted worker who cares so much about the groups she's in and her fellow members.
Murayama Yuiri, so likeable and cute. Can easily understand why people voted for her. She and Okada kind of seem like the powers behind the Mion/Zukki throne and I don't think anyone would mind that. She seems like a good Captain.
Kashiwagi Yuki no surprise, I think every AKB fan likes her a bit. While I can see people saying it about Miichan's graduation, when Kashiwagi graduates I think it will be the official end of the 1st Chapter of AKB. Like Muto, I like how she still comes on AKB shows.
I like Sakura Miyawaki, particularly those 2015-2017 years, but I get the strong impression she's done with 48G and would only come back to graduate. To be fair though I haven't followed what she's said on the topic at all other than I know she said once maybe a year ago that she was going to come back to HKT, but I just don't see it. If I'm right, I wish her well in her new K-pop career.

I'm not the kind of person who would say the -20 votes Okada received is ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING and that those who did it are BAD and should feel BAD, because that would really just be crossing the line and uncalled for. But, there were a whole lot of random negative votes this year that I really can't understand and if one were to say those were ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING, I would not disagree with them, as rude and brutish that may be to say.

Also! Thanks @kanjo for all you did this year and running everything :)

my opinion on the negative votes, hold a separate negative ranking if people really want to have something with negative rankings, mixed in with the positive votes opens it up too much for people to make negative votes petty reasons. I honestly cannot think of what naachan has done to deserve those negative votes, if anything, if there was an "idols that can't be disliked/deserve negative votes the least" ranking i would put naachan around the top

    My final three:

    12) 6. (18) [33|1] [AKB] Murayama Yuiri{+171,-5}, 166
The best stage performer in AKB48 and one of the loveliest people to meet at HS, IMO it's no surprise that she always sells out all of her slots.

    09) 5. (7) [35|0] [AKB] Kashiwagi Yuki{+194,0}, 194
An idol legend with a very mature and professional but happy personality, and who always makes me feel good when she appears.

    06) 7. (4) [21|5] [IZN] Miyawaki Sakura{+167,-18}, 149
My bias in IZ*ONE, for me she's the most talented and beautiful member of the group.

Thanks to @kanjo for organising it again! My complete ranking is in the spolier:

    01. Komiyama Haruka (+15)

Congrats Naachan! With her, my ranking is complete. She's talented, and the only one who can be forgiven for having short hair. In many aspects she can be a good role model.

    =====
Basically people that are giving Okada Nana negative points give her a lot of negative points since she is 3rd (or joint 2nd with Nishigata Marina) in the average negative points per negative voters, only beaten by Nishigata Marina (put her in 2nd because she has a lot more negative voters) and Tano Ayaka. People that give her negative point really want her to rank down.
Okada Nana lost a lot of voters and at the same time add a lot of negative points vs last year -> [50|4] [AKB] Okada Nana {+338,-8}, 330. Probably lots of people think she would easily won again this year thus not giving vote for her. Her small negative points for the 2018 result is probably because the negative voters focused on NGT members, thus put her in a lower place (thus fewer negative points)
Okada Nana actually has received a lot of negative point during her no.1 days. A lot more negative points compared to the no.2 and no.3 spot
    2016 -> [85|11] Okada Nana{+553,-44}, 509
    2017 -> [42|12] Okada Nana{+297,-45}, 252

My biggest sadness is that seeing the ranking result year after year, it is obvious that Okada Nana received too much negative points among the top ranker for basically doing... good?
When I submitted my ranking, I never give negative vote not because I don't want to give it, but the requirement is that you need to fill it from top to bottom, thus the first member in the negative list will get -5 and I don't think I have any member in my mind that I hate so much to warrant a -5. -1 perhaps, but not -5.

    20. 161. (81) [8|2] [AKB] Takahashi Juri {+26,-6}, 20

Murayama Yuiri (+3) - Our theatre goddess. Yuuiri grew on me in 2019 to the point that I had to vote for her even though she's not my oshi.:^^;: I feellike she and Naachan could help Zukkii to be a good centre.

Kashiwagi Yuki (+4) -Eternal idol Yukirin! I will keep voting for her until she graduates which she will be the last of the "original member" to graduate.

Shiraishi Mai (+1) -Nogi's beauty that I couldn't resist not to add her on my list.

Saito Asuka (+1) - Last year's Sing Out! was nice. I liked that song with Ashurin as the centre. Also looking forward on her upcoming movie where it is a live action adaptation of a popular manga that recently had an anime adaptation.

Okada Nana (+7) - Naachan has this presence alone that gives a strong impact to the group and to the crowd. And I love how she cares to other members not just on Team 4 or AKB in general but on her babies in STU as well.

Well' that's all for my votes. I didn't gave any negative votes because I didn't really felt like giving anyone a negative 5.

Stage48's member ranking has always been fun. From deciding for my top 20 to revealing my votes and also reading the comments/reasons of other voters here. Thanks to @kanjo for organizing this again.

Maybe. Or maybe Naachan was their only negative vote. The way negative votes are currently scored is absurd.

Komiharu was the member I "forgot" to put in my ranking. An being there was a decent chance I would've given her at least two points, it is my fault that she fell out of the Top 10. So my apologies to Komiharu...and her fans. To make matters worse, the one point I gave to Oguri didn't really make a difference in her ranking. At the same time, I truly think Yui is a quality idol, so I'm glad I ranked her.

And congratulations to Lucky Zukky for her continuing rise is popularity. She is so talented, and so beautiful. It makes me happy to see her get the recognition she is receiving. It's just too bad that her debut center spot has been marred by the horrible things happening in our world today.

As for why I voted the way I voted? I say this every year, but it is almost exclusively based on personal interactions at handshake events. The only exception being Kaimook, who I haven't met. But the rest of them have all given me memorable handshake experiences over the past year and beyond. I recommend all of them to those who have a chance to attend a future event.

That's the thing. Probably why it was made like that is to make people less eager to use negative vote. If you only want to give a negative vote for just a member but you don't really hate that member, then you shouldn't give negative vote at all. And in this year case, we still have NGT member, thus if someone want to give negative point to Naachan but just want to give -1 or -2, they can simply put NGT members to pad it and nobody will blame them. This is probably what happened in 2018 with Naachan got 4 negative votes and 8 negative points.

So, 6 of the girls who I voted for are in top 10. First, Nanase, I ranked her at 13 in my ranking. tbh I feel like the last time I really follow Nogi was right before Nanase graduated. I guess her graduation did make a difference for me... also, I started Anata no Ban desu, I didn't get to continue it yet, but I found the drama really good so far and it's nice seeing Nanase in it!

Next is Yuiyui, I ranked her at 4 in my ranking! I gave her a high rank, and I'm glad to see that she ranked in top 10 this time! Personally I don't watch Showrooms and I also don't have time for theater stages anymore, so I mostly just see social media updates, and Yuiyui post the cutest photos and videos! it cheer me up. She's just adorable and I really like her.

Then Yuiri, I ranked her at 19 in my ranking. I just wanted to give her a vote because she had a good year and she also did well as the center replacement for Flying Get. She's pretty!

Next is Yukirin, I ranked her at 2 in my ranking. Since I became a fan of AKB, 10 years ago, she has always been in my top favorites until now and it never changed, she has everything, she's a perfect idol, and I'm glad that she will stay idol until she's 30! I like everything about her.

Then Maiyan, I ranked her at 10 in my ranking. Like I said above, I don't follow Nogi as much as before, however I was still following them in early 2019 and I keep an eye on them, and Maiyan has always been my favorite in Nogi since years ago, she's a great girl, she's beautiful and hardworking. I will continue to vote for her until the end!

Lastly, Ikuchan, I ranked her at 11 in my ranking. She was the first Nogi member that I liked when Nogi debuted. even if I'm just casual follower now, I will still include her in my top 20. She's very talented and funny and pretty... a great idol!

That's it for me! My full ranking under spoiler.

I am always 100% open to change things if that's what everyone wants. It's not my ranking, or the admin's ranking. It's the forum's. I have yet to change anything from how bigc did it, apart from the announcements, I guess, but that doesn't mean I think the system is perfect.

That said, I do support the existence of negative votes. Despite how they can be abused for strategic reasons, I think that without them the results would simply not reflect the feelings of the forum as accurately.

For a controversial example, Shimazaki Haruka winning in 2015 despite how polarising she was. The votes against her could be seen as strategic but as someone who was present at the time, her winning two years in a row would not reflect how the forum in general thought of her. At the time at least.

That's not to say I don't see the downsides, but my opinion (which is not more valuable than anyone else's) is that it makes the results more honest.

Hey just a thought about negative votes. What if, make it mandatory or remove it completely.

First option is you need to use it whether for a valid reason or just plain strategy. I too am surprised to a couple of negative votes given but that's just the way it is. But one can argue, why downvote someone when I don't have the need to do so. For me this is all for fun. So if I'm required to use it, then game on I'll use it.

Or remove it completely. Let only positive votes decide the outcome.

I have no issue the way it is or how voters use it. I didn't use any even last year. But every year there's a fair amount of unsatisfied customer with regard to negative votes. So I'm just thinking do it one way or the other, nothing in between. Keep it as it is, I'm cool. :v:

Like I said some days ago, Nogi fans are good for this game. Many Nogi fans voted mostly for Nogi girls only, and they can literally put half of the group in their top 20 if necessary. and I was surprised at how little negatives they give to the members, even to girls who are popular and pushed. I mean the 4th gens got a big push and yet there is no negative feeling. and in the top 10, all Nogi girls (Ikuchan, Asuka, Maiyan, Nanase) have 0 negative votes, like wow... Their fans are supportive, they have no bad feelings against popular and pushed girls, and they have motivation to make their group shine. Maybe that's something to learn... although for me I don't think I'll be as involved with 48/46 in 2020 as I was in previous years. but yes you can see in this ranking the difference between different fandoms and the way they support their group.

These were my last members in the running. I'm reaaally surprised that Naachan didn't make it to number 1 this year. Why so many negatives?? Anyway, I guess congrats to Sakamichi!! Maybe it's really time for me to check them out
