The problem with albums is that instead of HS they come with tickets for 2-shots. Compared to HS events they've more expensive to organise as an extra member of staff is required in each booth to take photos. IMO though they could do the same as Nogizaka46 do with albums which is to give two HS tickets with each purchase.

For the theater re opening (currently closed because of sanitary emergency state), AKB48 is asking the fans to vote for the songs that will be performed at the end of the re opening show Vote on Twitter by mentioning your desired song with the hashtag #ファイト1曲AKB https://twitter.com/AKB48_staff/status/1366361931943079937
From the list, the song JESUS is never great in any circumstances, that and Honehone Waltz are probably the only songs that make we want to actually die when I hear them
On the subject of what the best AKB Sousenkyo single is, I'm currently hosting a ranking on my Twitter page (@zorkle22). If you're interested, add me and then I'll dm you the info. P.S. If you don't have a Twitter, you can also dm me here
They're not asking for us to vote for the entire setlist, just a handful of songs (maybe even just one) at the end, presumably in the same slot they used to play the latest A-side.
On 21/03/08, a rejuvenated AKB48 theater will re open again it's doors if the video does not show watch the video here
Coincides with the re-opening of schools in the UK lol. It seems fitting, considering their school uniform outfits
Article about a new pachinko machine 'Pachinko AKB48 Sakura LIGHT ver.' which will be rolled out nationwide by Kyoraku Sangyo on 3/8: https://yugi-nippon.com/pachinko-new-machine/post-41742/ Official web page: https://www.kyoraku.co.jp/product_site/2021/akb48_sakura/ PV for the machine with the MV for '10nen Sakura' in the background - N.B. there are a lot (and I mean a LOT) of flashing images: if the video does not show watch the video here
There will be a special performance at the theater on 03/11 to commémorative the great earthquake / tsunami disaster. It's been 10 years allready. https://ameblo.jp/akihabara48/entry-12660556570.html Hmmm the government extended the emergency state on Tokyo and neighboring prefectures. https://the-japan-news.com/news/article/0007200224 Looking for more if the performances above are still scheduled
Almost everyone in Japan knows since 2-3 days before that the state of emergency is going to be extended. I don't think any stages will be cancelled at this point.
Today it was announced that AKB's radio program called AKB2029 is ending at the end of March. There are 3 episodes left before it ends... This is a very sad news... This program started after AKB ANN was ended, the full title of the program is "AKB2029 ~To you in 10 years from now~". Clearly it was started with the thought of continuing for 10 years... I checked on the japanese wiki page and it says that this program was for AKB to continue to shine for the next 10 years... The opening music is 10nen Zakura... well ._. The program was quite short and without a video version (unlike ANN) but I think it was the only remaining AKB radio program? So now they will be left with nothing... This is also the end of 11 years of AKB working with Nippon Broadcasting System (9 years with AKB ANN, and 2 years with AKB2029). So far the only members who have talked about the radio program ending are Miion (who was regular on this program) and Seichan. I can't find any other member talking about it. uhm. I don't know what to say :/
It might feel like that is the only AKB radio show but it isn't. They have another one that have been running longer than ANN which is Hashira Night with AKB48. Hashira Night web page said that it started in November 2006! https://www.bayfm.co.jp/program/akb/ The difference between ANN and that is that ANN have a much wider coverage (I believe this only applies to AKB ANN now Nogi and not AKB48 2029 radio) while Hashira Night broadcast area is Chiba. Of course with internet you can tune in from anywhere in Japan via radiko. edit: to be clearer, there is the actual ANN timeslot, which is 25:00-27:00 which AKB ANN was included in it. This programming is being broadcasted in 36 stations all over Japan. AKB48 2029 radio is not a part of that and basically only being broadcasted in Kanto, which is still wider than Hashira Night coverage, but nowhere near ANN coverage.
The free service only allow you to access radio in your area. I live in Osaka and I have to VPN (or buy premium subscription) if I want to listen to bayfm or ANN. Personally, I find AKB 2029 incredibly boring even with member I liked. Hashira night is much better.
