I would love to see a dance number with Karin, Takeyui and Endou. All good dancers, at least two with dramatic talent, and three different styles. In fact, the different styles could either be a thrill or cause confusion, lol. Takeyui's strong and emotional move at about 4:30 (pointed out by @iainus in the Ban thread) left me wanting more.

I loved a lot of Karin moments in the dance: one in particular at 1:44 where she starts a scene by whirling her two hands in tight little circles with an infectious smile. Such verve in the movements and the smile. Or the lightness of her little skip/jump at 1:13. Everyone was doing the same move, which worked well.

A Japanese comment somewhere said that Karin has such a good figure that she even looks good slouching in a loose raincoat. She is supposedly not an athlete, but in dancing she has such good body-control and flexibility.

I believe that atashi ("I, me") is exclusively feminine, but watashi ("I, me") is not exclusively masculine, and is in fact often used by women.

I don't know what to say about bringing in an outside actress. I think it worked very well artistically, but it did take time away from other members. They probably thought it was safer to bring in a professional actress for this little drama, which was not part of the musical performance, as the dramatic aspect of Te wo Tsunaide was. But I thought the vague attempt to show more of the members by having them lined up in little groups off to the side was rather lame.

 

Its a shitty week for idol world. At 14 y.o hasegawa momoka caught drinking alcohol and nogizaka kanagawa saya have bright future model and idol , has dig her own grave by having a date with jonny members (and also yokono sumire nmb and ske souda sarina dating)

The only power Bunshun has is the one "fans" give it.
I hope it will come the day Karin, and every other woman out there, idol or not - can do with her own body and her own life what the hell she wants without having armies of so called fans judging her.

I'm not gonna comment on underage drinking but as for dating, what's so stupid about it? You do understand that majority of the girls are probably dating or have dated at some point, right? They're young women, it's normal thing that they fall in love and date people. And I'm sure that at some point Karin will fall in love too. Would you call her stupid for this too?

Don't blame girls for wanting to live as normal people. Blame Bunshun for stalking them and not letting them live and fans for blowing all this out of proportion.

 

I don't mind karin want to date. BUT when you are still in the group just respect the rules. If she want normal life she can quit idol. Or join married idol group.
When did i write I bring other idol down. I'm just write my own opinion here.

 

This is a difficult topic, but what @dinbradpitt says is just the truth. We don't have to make a big deal of these things, but we don't have to hide them and refuse to talk about them, either. Especially considering Keyaki's own history. I personally am not that worried for Karin. Despite her assertion that she is not very smart, it seems to me she knows she has a lot more to enjoy as an idol and is single-minded enough, there in her inner "Karin World," not to jeopardize it. And anyway, she said at the time of Naze Koi that she had never been interested in love.

As for the general issue, I'm with @Dill: the members should be free to have private lives like the rest of us. I know this is unlikely to happen, but I wish it could.

I was struck by something @valerien said in the Ban thread: "I'm definitely of the opinion that out of everyone that made the transition from Keyakizaka46 to Sakurazaka46, Karin has grown the most." I can't actually say "most," but I've been looking at past performances, even from just last summer-fall, and I think she is moving better now than she did then, more smoothly and more confidently. The talent she has shown in the last two MVs is astonishing. By her dance and her acting she has the power to convey emotion. Her singing needs to be stronger and more certain, but even there I like her sound and expression.

EDIT: It seems that Kanagawa-san is being given a chance to weather the storm. She has apologized and is continuing to perform with Nogizaka. But some Nogi fans are still upset with her. Some Japanese Keyaki/Hinata fans are upset that she may be allowed to continue where Nijika and Mao were not. I have no opinion on that. (source)

On the popular NHK music show Shibuya no Oto, the members interviewed spoke about their morning routines, so Karin got to shock people again with her "50 degree" (=122 Fahrenheit) morning shower. She's learning to smile. And like others, she wore a partly forehead-showing hairstyle:

So, Karin basically cooks herself every morning in her "morning routine".

As an aside, it's interesting how a language evolves. Japanese has been incorporating more and more English words/phrases into their vocabulary. In a couple of hundred years from now Japanese maybe more Japanglish. (Yes, I'm sure there are other borrowed/incorporated words from other languages as well, and this happens in other languages too, but seems very prevalent in modern Japanese.)

NOTE: With the release of BAN (and Guuzen no Kotae and Microscope), I am finally changing my avatar to Karin. Memi is far from forgotten (I check for news of her often), but maybe I have finally accepted her retreat (advance?) into private life. As for the image of Karin I'm using, it's from the end of the GuuKota MV, where she is strides along at the top of Spain-zaka in Shibuya, and then starts down the steps. An actress, for sure.

Some Japanese comments criticize both Risa and Karin for not being good on the show. I think it has more to do with the host having a style they are not sympathetic with, and his being unable to adapt to them. The best from both of them is when they go against the trend and come out with unique honest comments. But to ask them to carry a show or rush along like Marina following the host's direction may not be a good choice of guests, as comments said -- or choice of host, as I say. I found the host's calling her "Berisa" all the time quite ugly, myself.

I guess I still like the Keyaki style: Karin has said that when the name changed they were asked to be more cheerful and outgoing, but that she has not changed herself at all. Risa says she herself is shy and makes no effort to change that, although she does work at speaking more on variety shows. She says she's not that ambitious and is happy that fans accept her unvarnished self. She wants to be herself.

As Risa said about Karin in that second picture: "kawaii". She also said that in the first picture, she and Fuu-chan are fighting over Karin.

Further to the Keyaki "be yourself" connection, Satou Shiori's new video (coming out today) is called "Be True to Yourself!" The promos (same link) go on and on about being oneself.

 

Karin Fujiyoshi's Part 1 "Unexpected Answer" report is very nimble! I felt nervous from waiting for 1 hour but that feeling disappeared when I saw her cute. Actually it's just shyness (smile)

Karin is a real film fan. It appears she sees everything as soon as it comes out, going alone to the cinema and sitting near the back, at the end of a row.

For sure people will allude to the yuri aspect of the GuuKota MV. I kind of liked the way she said people "teased" her about it (I think ijiwaru is somewhere between teasing and bullying, however). And that people saying "I love you" (using the same words as the MV) was "embarrassing."

The performance of Guuzen no Kotae on last Sunday's SokoSaku was thrilling. Good overall, good individually, and wonderful by Karin. The word that came to mind was "electrifying." As far as I'm concerned, she's got "it." The depth and sadness lurking behind her smile. Her smooth, graceful movements. Her body's sylph-like slenderness and flexibility: she can move her whole body gracefully in sections. Amazing.

About the only thing I had some doubt about was the part where she turned her back to the audience and "shook her booty." I'm not sure if I was just offended or felt it was not as graceful a movement as all the rest. It's okay: I'm getting used to it as I watch the performance over and over again, lol.

I recall reading a few months ago that a member of Nogizaka had praised her and said she was someone they "had to worry about." Lol. Nogizaka is competitive.

karin said that the classroom room was her first meeting with riko, and as there were basically no script, they are told to just chat with each other. so they talk and build up their relationship while trying to appear like good friends already.

so when they record the scenes where they are distance between the two, karin also feel sad in a realistic way like, "oh, just when we are becoming better friends..."
