The 2020 Stage48 Member Ranking Results (All ranks revealed!)

That's why I refrained from any type of negative voting at all this year. I wanted to focus only on the positives and for 2020 (aside from a few notable...erm, problematic members), I just voted for the girls I think had a good year and in some cases, those who left the best impressions on me. Especially from a Yuuka and Pon oshi, it really does hurt to see any kind of negative voting, worse when you can't find any reason for them to be dislikeable.

I just wish we can go with only positive votes and erase any kind of negativity regarding these.

Also, a correction, I missed Satomina previously somehow. Only top votes and nr. 20 are missing now. I expect nr. 20 to be in top 15.

My fav four of 4th gen getting the highest score (among their generation), I'm already very satisfied.

Hayakawa Seira for me is the most talented among them (except for drawing which goes to my #3) and very deserving to finally be selected to Senbatsu. She doesn't hold back. Singing, dancing, variety, TV drama, stage play, she can do it all. Tsutsui Ayame is doing well for herself. Great news that she will have a song with Yoda for their new single. I'm already expecting downvotes for Endo Sakura. She'll do just fine in the coming years. Imo, she's still doing a decent job. It's been quiet for Kitano Hinako for a while now and in the middle of 2nd gen graduation parade, I hope she can still hold on. I'm happy with this slight improvement in her ranking.

I'm glad that Kobayashi Yui is doing well as a front member of the now Sakurazaka46. I'm waiting for her to be center one day. No hurry, can't be too demanding when she's already in a very good position.

Same here, I usually give a few negative votes, but I couldn't bring myself to do it this year. There's been too much negativity. I know, it's only a forum event and it's not that serious, but I just thought I should refrain and hit send after putting together my top 20 rather than spending any time thinking about who I disliked.


As for the ranking reveals...
8 out of 20 of mine haven't come up yet, meaning they're in the top 25. I think this is a new record for me in how common (probably not the right word but I'm struggling to find a better word in English...popular/typical?) my tastes in 48/46G girls are - usually I have some more niche preferences, at least for the forum.

Glad to see Shige get into the top 30. I've really liked her since I first got into HKT and she's probably my HKT oshi. It's been a fairly good year for her too, all things considered.

 

Mainstream is the word you're looking for.

 

Yeah, the idol world was obviously hit pretty hard in 2020 but it's really up to us as fans to be there for the idols that have made us happy. I know it's a forum game but it still doesn't pay to be mean to these girls at all. Just spread happiness and positivity.

Can I just say though that I'm pleasantly surprised that Jurina hasn't come up yet? Usually, she's around 50 to 90 rank. Her downvotes were ranging from somewhere near 30 to 60-ish??

So either Jurina gained more votes than usual or less members downvoted her this time.

I still doubt she would make it to the top 10, many Jurina fans became less active when a mod (?) deleted Jurina (and other Team S members)'s thread. Still, top 25? I'll take it.

 

I like the negative votes, sometimes you just dislike an idol for a reason and its justified but there are some this year that are baffling. Like what demon gave negative votes to Wonyoung and Higashimura Mei Who hurt you???

@Quark - Elaborate please. Don't mind that you did it even though she doesn't deserve it, but I'd like to know your reasoning.

 

Based on the number of downvotes the girls I downvoted got I think a lot of people have the same philosophy as me: I will keep downvoting them (the NGT delinquent five) until they are no longer eligible or they truly atone for the damage they caused.

 

With the exception of one (possibly two) who will soon stop being eligible, they caused no damage outside your imagination. But, whatever, what you do with your negative votes is your own business.

 

That is a weird request. Just by saying she doesn't deserve negative votes, means my reasons are not enough even though you are asking for them. The question then: did Sugai, Endo, Kobayashi, Yamazaki Ten, Shimoguchi Hinana, Onishi Momoka, etc. deserve the negative votes?

Since you ask, I never liked her. Since the very beginning. I always found her a mix of annoying and fake (I'm not sure is the right word choice but whatever). And her increased exposure as the captain of team K made me see her more often. Therefore, her name came to my head while doing the list and I thought about downvoting her together with another member that hasn't come out yet (and someone else that I should have included but I forgot, hopefully, I will downvote her next year). Obviously, this is a very personal perception that in the end has more to do with how I feel and perceive people, and that is also what makes everyone chose a member over other. And it is part of the fun of doing these rankings.
