I honestly doubt @Aka has suddenly become an eito fan.

The team’s surge in popularity is undeniable, but I guess it’s a matter of numbers that I’m too dumb to go into. If the team is so big, more the chances of girls from that team to get popular. The other teams are… what? 12 girls without the kennin girls?

 

37 out of 91 but yes. I mostly see that narrative being pushed by people complaining about too many eitos though.

 

So they're 41% of the group. 39% participation in the single is quite close to that.

 

Aho.

 

It's not so much that the eitos are gaining popularity, they're basically keeping their level, possibly in part due to sponsorships, in part due to their fans being very passionate and more organized… while AKB as a whole has been in freefall for years. So relatively it looks like they're going up. Much as I dislike the entire concept, they're one of the main things keeping AKB in the map.

 

Also in part due to them doing a lot of the things young members should have been doing--and in some cases were doing before Team 8 came along (national tours, local events, etc.).

I still think Team 8's current popularity has more to do with the founder effect though. Hence why the new eitos aren't really catching on (floundering attempts at super pushes notwithstanding).

 

So then the amount of T8 in the senbatsu makes sense, right.

Too many or not, seems like a normal distribution for me. Would switch some members here and there tho, like where the hell is Oda, her matrix looks better than some of the included ones. But maybe there a thing regarding the song concept more fitting to certain members. So yeah, just wait and see.

After an underwhelming senbatsu announcement, I hope there are some interesting things in coupling songs.

It's been noted on social media that there appears to be two pairs of feet visible in the front of the line-up, is this a clue to a W-center?

 

The twitter account is also run by two people, who sign as ‘Nemo’ and ‘Hamo’. Could be staff of course, but my gut feeling is that it's members. So maybe the centers?

So that's why they didn't announce the center(s). They want us to speculate and generate buzz. Hiroyuki influence already? Could even work.

 

Spreading around rumors does fit single title.

If it truly is a w-senbatsu then I am betting my money on YuuNaa.

From the short practice clip I indeed would say that it looks like quite a dynamic dance, let us hope that the single is indeed also one.

 

This is great marketing, lol. Brava AKS for coming up with this marketing. Personally, I think this is a little too early to generate the buzz, but, I digress. This is quite entertaining. Lol.

 

The account said some tweets will be signed by "(ne mo)" and some by "(ha mo)", and occasionally, we'll also see "(rumor)". This makes me think we might have two teams, root team and leaf team. I'm also inclined to agree we'll get a w-center (root and leaf). I'm thinking that all the tweets signed by ne mo or ha mo are true, but those signed by rumour are fake?

 

If only the concept would be as interesting and creative as this!

 

The latest one (by Nemo) said the costumes are made of roots and leaves, so I guess not
