    god this is hard to watch. With the amounts she said shes been eating the amount of pressure she puts on herself to lose weight, it's no wonder she's actually gaining weight with how much stress shes been putting on her body. This is the problem with diet programs that focus only on the numbers instead of actual health...I feel so bad for her for getting sucked into this kind of weight loss culture

    it's an important topic because so many people are stuck in yoyo diets and Miki is someone that can be sympathetic to that frustration. hopefully she can make some good habits/acceptance in 2022. but for the time being I like that she is putting it out there so that people don't feel alone

    Miki-Chan bounced back pretty well if you remember where she was at her graduation and the period after that

    She had a period where she really seemed to regret graduating, but tbh she was not going anywhere in AKB at the time
    Maybe if she stuck around she might have had a chance, but we’ll never know.
    Mako-Chan ended up in a dead end as well
    You can’t help wondering staff might have done more

    Maaaybe if she stuck around for the past 2 singles she could have been picked as senbatsu since they were dance oriented, but you never know with how weird management is with pushes.

    For sure Miki-chan drove her dance instructors up the wall with her extreme energetic movements.
    If you look at any Minegishi Team 4 performance, Miki-chan immediately stands out.
    If you see hair and limbs flying .... that's Miki ;)
    That was something that worked for her in Team 4, but I think that when selecting members for an AKB senbatsu they would rather go with a Mako or Naachan, as they would 'blend' in better.

    Standing out is not always good; sometimes it is a distraction from the overall effect. I sometimes got that feeling with Tano Yuka.

    It cost Miichan her dance solo(?) when AKB just started ... she was 'too good' (according to Aki-P) and they removed the number.
    Something that must have confused Miichan to no end, being just 13 at the time

    Tano was one of those girls who matched a number like 'End Roll' if you paired her with girls having the same level of skill

    Mikichan first came to my attention with her energetic solo cover dances which she regularly performed on AKB48 SHOW with her twintails going in all directions lol. Here's an example I've found, it's a performance of 'Heart no Dasshutsu Game' from 2015 (credit to uploader):

    If we're on the topic of how we noticed Miki-chan, for me it was the "guess what's in the box" segment on AKBINGO. She went completely hysterical, and it was simply a robot dog in the box. That was my first ever encounter with anything AKB, so it's thanks to Miki-chan that I'm a fan today.

    Miki was such a scaredy cat back then, an episode earlier she had to taste fried silk larvae while blind folded .... even with Miichan holding her hand she just could not do it
    While finding her over the top angst over the robot dog hilarious, you can hear Yuko and Miichan trying to calm her down .... to no avail
    But the moment she finds out it's a dog, she turns in the the cutest girl ever.

    Mikichan has announced her marriage today to 54 year old comedian Yamamoto Keiichi of the comedy duo Gokuraku Tombo:

    According to the article Yamamoto was dismissed from his office in 2006 due to an adultery scandal. Therefore apart from the large age gap, IMO he doesn't seem to be a good choice for Mikichan. :( Hopefully though everything will turn out to be OK for them.
