Yumiko Takino of STU48 who took the university entrance exam at an online prep school and successfully passed the school of her choice this spring. Why did she challenge her exam while doing idol activities? How was she studying for the exam while she was busy ... In the second part, we asked her about her college life as a freshman on a sunny day





──Did you attend the entrance ceremony?
Takino: Yes. I didn't have a suit, so I borrowed it from member Akari Fukuda. While everyone was wearing black suits, I was the only one floating in gray (laughs).

──What was your impression of the class?
Takino: Our work is basically standing, but I think it's basically sitting as a college student. Also, I thought it was wonderful that the class time was fixed. Because our work can be overwhelming.

──I think most of my classmates are 18 or 19 years old. Did you care that you are older?
Takino: I didn't care about it at all. I think I didn't care because I was working only with younger people.

── Did you make friends?
Takino: I don't talk at school (laughs). Because I am shy and have no communicative competence. I can't talk to myself.

──What do you want to do as a university student?
Takino: I bought a personal computer. I had borrowed one from a friend at the previous university. Right now I can only hit with my index finger, but someday I want to use all my fingers to type.

──Why did you decide to go back to college in the first place?
Takino: When I entered STU48, I was a college student. I couldn't attend because I was busy with work, and I was able to attend only 2 days in the second half of the 2nd grade due to the activities of the debut single and the selection work of AKB48. I had to take a leave of absence there, but in the end I had to choose to drop out. I was very sad because I had just entered the university, and I wanted to learn more.

Even after that, it was a regret that I quit college halfway. When I was thinking that I wanted to go somewhere, I got a call from "Tadayobi" (online prep school) and decided to aim for the university with support.

──How did you proceed with studying for the exam?
Takino: My main study time was on the move. Since I have many round trips between Tokyo and Setouchi, the inside of the Shinkansen was the most relaxing study room. The rest is between work. Open reference books and memorize words while traveling by car or taking a break from a talk session. The key was how to find the time.
