pretty much around that, no? I mean according to their audition rule, altho accepted in respective audition, there'll be final filtering among the choosen. They are re-applicating the Kenshuusei system on 6th.
My bet is 15-16 girls because there will be spring and summer auditions. I don't think they will pull another "4.5ki"(and honestly, it's better to not be a .5, just see how 4.5ki got less opportunities than their gen mates who were revealed sooner).

The 5ki audition website scheduled their final audition on September 19 and their new member announcement in December 2021, but the new 5ki members were eventually announced in early February 2022 instead. Management hasn’t published a 6ki member announcement date, but the 6ki’s final audition is May 19, so an early reveal would be August, or if they followed the 5ki’s timeline they would debut in early October 2024. Of course, if management wants fans to vet the 6ki's backgrounds this time, candidates might be revealed even before auditions end. The “summer group” audition starts 4 months later, so they’d debut roughly 4 months later, but that’s assuming an identical timeline. Their final audition 4 months ahead is projected to be September 19, so all 6ki could even debut at the same time. One new addition in the 6ki’s audition website is the final question in the FAQ, telling applicants who reside overseas that they need to be in Japan to attend the 3rd round of auditions onward. This could indicate management is more open to accepting international members. (The 6ki audition website has entirely replaced the 5ki audition website on the same URL, so you can now only view 5ki audition content through the Wayback Machine)

I don't remember if the members push this hard jn the past auditions. I wonder if management set out an order to them?
I wonder if the 6ki audition will have a SHOWROOM audition? If I remember correctly, 5ki doesn't use SR audition. 3ki and 4ki had one.
Personally, I hope they don't. I hate the feeling of rooting for someone only to see them fail -- it was the main reason I didn't bother with the sakamichi joint audition. Best thing about 3rd Gen audition -- all made it in that wanted in. And the way 5th Gen was revealed was great. I guess if they do hold 'em, I'm most likely skipping out. I know it will be tough to avoid spoilers...
