its all a very safe idol songs i love it.

Yukirins solo have some parts that reminded me of her old songs, Kanzabai and others. which fits her image

gen 17 and 18 also have a very nice songs. felt like a very cohesive release(nothing sticks out or below average) hope they can even step it up next time. or keep it consistent .

Still a good number. They lost Hiichan, Rinrin, OdaEri, Momo, Mogi and Naamin whom contributed 50-60 Sold out slots each, and tbh even the current senbatsu members don't sell as well as they should. Only new senbatsu girls (Azu, Yuna, Mizumin, Manaka, Ayamin) improve their number.
Next time without Yukirin, the game will be tougher than ever.

 

I know there's going to be a shipment on the fourth day that will push the numbers close to 300k, but nonetheless ZEST must be some sort of geniuses since SKE sold more than 271k in the first week without any Yukirins.

 

I give my final cents at the weekend. Maybe the Next Days the Sales getting a boost. considering the loss of a few members. It's still ok I guess

My copies of the Limited Edition types have just arrived from CDJapan via DHL and I've just opened the package to see whose store bonus photos I've received and oh look there's my kami-oshi :

 

ZEST promotes SKE and truly cares about the group, unlike DH.

Anyway, AKB numbers aren't bad considering they lost many popular members. No Hii-chan, Onishi, OdaEri, Berin, Mogi...Of course the impact was going to be big. Only delusional int fans thought "the Yukirin grad single" factor would be sort of a "koko ni wa nai mono" in the sense of saving the sales and get back to those big numbers AKB was known for.

Next single they'll probably go full on promoting KKS.

 

AKB, Sakurazaka, =LOVE 1st day sales have gone down.

 

278k sales for the first day is very good and much higher than what I expected, the drop is not too big. They were never going to sell as well as the previous single which had around 60 members doing HS compared to this single having around 45 members doing HS. and among the girls who are gone, quite a few of them were strong sellers, so of course they would lose sales. and the single being Yukirin's graduation single was never going to magically make 50k more people buy it. Her fans were already buying the previous singles and applying for HS... and she actually did less HS for this single than previous singles. So all things considered, the sales are very good! Now the next single won't have Yukirin at all, which is another good HS seller gone and also the most popular member. So I expect, once again, that the next single might drop in sales. They'll have 19th gen though so at least around 10 new girls doing HS. it should help a bit and make the drop not too big (or stay stable?). I honestly think they're surviving well considering how the group has much less members now and lost some big names.

About SKE being used as comparison, just a reminder that SKE has around 60 members doing HS for their singles. Sales are (and will always be) related to how many HS tickets are sold. I'm really happy for SKE doing well and having high sales (more power to 48g!) but yes their sales can be easily explained. it doesn't make AKB look bad in comparison.
