AKB wasn't even popular at that time, and debuting another group in not even the same theater was only a waste of money and time. even now, with AKB being much more popular and people outside the fandom actually caring about them, akimoto is not ready to manage two groups together (and now 3 with SND) Japan now keeps an eye on their releases, and the theater is probably much more profitable now but i bet not even 10% of the general public knows ~AKB stands for 3 groups (teams) A,K,B and what you see on tv are the senbatsu members and not all the group and bla bla bla~, if they don't even know the basic of AKB how can you actually introduce SKE to the public? the main reaction would be "huh? SKE48? ...an AKB unit?" and sub-units are fan-oriented, not general public-oriented. i don't think akimoto want a whole group to sell as much as no3b, and they obviously know it because that's the most logical reason i can think of why SKE didn't release a single for an year. and still, i don't think SKE will be ready to start release their own singles frequently for at least 1/2 years. OF COURSE, that if AKB will still get more and more popular with each single for the next 2 years (something impossible). Akimoto should concentrate in just one thing and stop trying to recreate a Hello!Proyect II. because we all know what happened to momusu..... , but it's too late know though.

Re: [SINGLE] AKB48 - [RIVER] - 2009/10/21 Watching the performance on AKBingo, it feels as though this single had SO MUCH SO MUCH potential to be completely kickass, I am sure it would rock the charts and all but for me, my first impression from the preview at Saruobasan was the peak and everything just keeps disappointing :/ Let's hope coming performance will pick things up. On a brighter note, I am actually liking Jurina in this. She fits with the song. Getting the right expression, moves and all.

And this could tide in with the whole team reshuffling. Team A could get the whole saving Private Maeda - woot we're marines. Team K has the army trek - throw in a story line, trying to diffuse a bomb or get to an checkpoint or whatever. Team B could just start shooting missiles at everyone. Seriously. Get with it Akimoto-sensei!
