Most of the examples in my dictionary imply that 曲 is a 'tune', as in a piece of music, rather than an entire song (eg with lyrics). So you'd sing a song, but you'd play a little tune on a piano. *shrug*
They can be both used for "song". The latter is the base for many other words/expressions having to do with songs/singing. It's also used for poetry so it has more to do with the written art form, where the former is specific to music/sound. Like Mr. Waffle was saying.

Ok, this is probably a stupidly easy thing and I'm overthinking it or something, but... ”シャイな私のこの気持ち、届いてますか？” I don't think I've learnt anything about masu after te-form. In this case, does it mean like, "my shy feelings, do they get through?" as in, the action is taking place (and the ka questioning if it's taking place). Or something. I dun get it lul orz (the verb having like a million variations in the dictionary doesn't help my understanding either )
You pretty much have the meaning of it down - Just think of it as 届いていますか since it's like the exact same thing It's the same with 届いてる being a shorter and more conversational version of 届いている
Ooooh, thanks, that makes sense. I know about ている, but I didn't know about the shorter version... that sort of thing seems to crop up a lot more in real life than in the textbooks...

what is this lv4 you are talking about? The way I started learning Japanese is watching a lot of Anime (like really a lot) and recently I have stopped watching Anime and started watching normal Japanese drama's with subs. learning to read is really difficult. Started translating blogs to learn the kanji's getting to memorize them slowly. Usually when I don't know the kanji I just write them myself and the Hiragana behind it. This way I keep remembering the Hiragana and slowly learn Kanji. The Katakana I have a table to look up the romaji of the katakana but usually I don't need it.
^ He could be referring to level 4 of the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test). There are actually two version - old and new. Old version has four levels w/ 4 being the easiest and 1 being the hardest. New version has five levels with 5 being the easiest and 1 being the hardest. Here's a comparison of the two versions: New 5 = Old 4 New 4 = Old 3 New 3 = no corresponding level in the old version New 2 = Old 2 New 1 = Old 1 I'm not sure if he means Old 4 or New 4, but either way I think he's implying that still has a long way to go w/ his Japanese.
