Re: THE AKB48 thread! To be fair, Yui was (iirc) the most popular kenkyuusei according to mixi at the time of her promotion. She was already on her way to being successful and popular. And now, they're giving her more of a push, and people are liking her more and more. She's actually moving up mixi quite fast. [nod] If they keep pushing her as they are, she'll surely be popular enough for a lower senbatsu spot in the near future. Yui's in my top 10 and I love her to bits and was totally supportive of her push, but now I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by it @_@;;;;
Re: THE AKB48 thread! I'm not saying that, i dislike her or anything, and i don't have any reason to believe she won't be very popular, but 5.5 months and the problem for me is. I don't have anything on her, like if anyone were to ask me to describe Yui. I really wouldn't know what to say, i just literally don't anything about her. And if i got asked afterwords, then why is she popular. The only thing that would pop out of my lips would be "It's becasue management is really pushing her" and while i'm in this state i believe that other fans might come to a certain realization. Plus once management does start toning down on the pushing (well more like they can't exactly overwhelm with her anymore then they already have). It'll simply be the fans decision if they like her more or whoever else they try pushing. Or It could be that yui isn't really my cup of tea and that obviously i'm not going to like every idol in AKb, since know one really does. but i believe it to be the first one.
Re: THE AKB48 thread! ...But she was really popular before her promotion (when she didn't get much). ;A; There seem to be a decent amount of kenkyuusei fans around, so there were a lot of people who knew what she was like even at the time of her promotion. Also I've been seeing people around the forum loving her because of her personality and stuff, so I mean, I don't think it's ONLY because management is pushing her. I'm actually kind of liking her less than when she was promoted (...I'm gonna be completely honest and say that sometimes I care less about girls when they get their hair cut and I don't like it >_>). But anyways my point is, she's been in the group for over a year now. She hasn't been promoted, but she was popular with fans even before that. /done
Re: THE AKB48 thread! These pics from the article on pichipichi from tokyohive show Mayu and Yuko are doing the other peach "butt" instead of the normal peach like Yui and Takamina are showing. I know it's a joke between Mayu and Yuko, but is this ok to do at a press event or is the symbol considered harmless in japanese culture or did they think nobody would notice? I wouldn't know because before akbingo i've never seen this hand gesture before and i thought it stood for Watanabe.

Re: THE AKB48 thread! YJ7~! I like Fresh Lemon and she's been pushed a lot recently but not sure how she'll fit in with everyone else looking as young as she does. Aside from that, as far as the rest of the lineup (kitarie, miichan (center), yui, rabutan, amina, ranran) goes, I'm liking it more than YM7 since aside from akicha, myao and sasshi, I'm still likewarm on the others.
