i think the jump from 480i to 720p is already noticeable enough, unless you sit in your neighbor's house and watch the TV from there. =)

720p to 1080p is not as obvious though.

horray bluray, i'm in for one. too bad the nmb48 1st stage isn't on bluray =(

Heavy Rotation in HD will be like my screensaver

32 inch HDTV is good enough. although 40+ utilizes 1080p better.

I am hoping and praying for this boxed set to be well packaged.

The box of AKB's new album is so cheap and flimsy .___.

    Same here.
Thanks to our postal strike, it might be delivered at the same time as two / three weeks' worth of mail. Probably just going to throw it around in a hurry without caring about the contents. :hmm:

^ OMG that's so awesome! I don't want to know how much the agency has to pay to buy the rights to hang on that building. It's going to be so incredibly hella expensive! (not even talking about the production cost of those giant vinyl posters) [shock]

I thought it was strange that they were missing so many other senbatsu members...your post clarified why :D I had no idea so many of the senbatsu were signed with Ohta Pro (I don't keep track of agencies). They must be making a good deal of money...smart investment.

Someone must post a picture of the Acchan one when it gets hung up, I want.

Ok, this is bad. I just pre-ordered the Blu-ray, my first AKB purchase...I can feel my wallet getting lighter in the future.

Only Sasshi, Yuko and Acchan are signed with Ohta Pro. Mariko is with Someday, Tomochin with Horipro and Yukirin with Watanabe Entertainment.
But it's true Ohta Pro girls are the only one with a 2 day promo :D

Mentioned this on Facebook, but...seriously, I'd have never imagined seeing a giant picture of Rino posted up in Shibuya.

And also (not mentioned on Facebook)...kinda bummed that Rie's not featured up there on that list. I guess she's not considered as big as Rino, Atsuko, and Yuko in the eyes of Ota Pro.

    Oh well...*shrugs*

Oh, thanks! I haven't even heard of most of these agencies...feels good to learn something today. The only one I actually kind of know about, along with the girls, is OgiPro because they had that separate AKB48 OgiPro concert. The other agencies should have their own separate concert too :D Though I guess none have as much as OgiPro

Whew, that's quite a lot of money! They have to sell a lot of DVD's to break even. But I guess that won't be such a big problem :D

    No they don't:

The Blu-ray Disc region coding scheme divides the world into 3 regions, labeled A, B, and C.

    * Region A includes most North, Central and South American and Southeast Asian countries plus the Republic of China (Taiwan), Japan, Hong Kong, Macau and Korea.
    * Region B includes most European, African and southwest Asian countries plus Australia and New Zealand.
    * Region C contains the remaining central and south Asian countries, as well as the People's Republic of China and Russia.

UK Region B, Japan Region A.
