I've listened to Visual Kei in many years now and it's probably my favorite genre with bands like the GazettE, L'Arc-en-Ciel, Alice Nine, Nightmare, Gackt, Sadie and many more. But at the same time I have to admit that everytime when I listen to Arashi(Johnny's Entertainment) I fells either really relaxed or emotional So I'm stuck between J-rock and J-pop
Its mostly pop except K-pop, no offence to its fans its just me, but I'm also a fan of Slipknot and Linkin Park [rock] .
i like listening in addition to jpop and jrock( uverworld): alternative rock, dance, electro and house music
Top 3 would have to be: - Jazz - Electronic (mainly House) - J-music in general (pop, rock/metal/vk, dance, r&b, traditional...so many!)
Don't worry, you won't find anyone here believing that pop, idol pop or bubblegum pop has anything to do with being gay.
I love AKB48 first and foremost. Of Japanese artists, I also like B'z and Mai Kuraki. In Toronto, Canada, I enjoy listening to the top hits on the radio (I listen mostly to 104.5 CHUMFM).
My music tastes changed so much in the last 5 years... Pop -> Alternative rock -> Christian -> Christian rock -> Japanese rock -> Japanese pop When I get into a genre, I REALLY get into it. So right now, my iPod is just full of the 48 groups' songs! I wonder if my music tastes will change again~ (I hope not though. )
Probably noise. Japan had a great scene back in the eighties and nineties, the likes of Hijokaidan, Incapacitants, Merzbow, Masonna etc. I'd doubt anyone here shares my interest
hard to poll [sealed] i'm all-around type i love pop (but only west pop and j-pop ), jazz, country, rock, metal, classical, etc
Around 2005-2006 I really love brit-pop like beatles, oasis, etc. 2007-2008 I like j-rock like laruku, the gazette, etc, and then akb come to my life and I love it until now , well my fav genre always changing with the flow of time
Merzbow is pretty cool although I don't think I can listen to it in sustained manner ;-) For noise rock in Japan, I guess my favorite is Keiji Haino and Fushitsusha. Actually more than noise, I guess I am (or was?) more into Drone. Music from groups like Boredom suits me quite well
Glad to be proven wrong! I like some noise rock, but more UK based like Skullflower, Total etc. The one's I don't get on with are the likes of Melt Banana, Acid Mothers Temple and Boredoms.
