That would sound even worse! Then they'd be switching between perfect English and really broken English, it'd be so awkward.

they was singing the japanese version, so they didn't change the english pronunciation,
if they singing the indonesian version, i assume the pronunciation will also change too,
    as simple as that

Awww, she's so... wonderful. <3 I hope she becomes a huge success! Ghaida, ganbatte!!! [rock]

I've also taken quite a shine to Nabilah, the youngest one. She's often being compared to the wonderful Oku Manami, which is a huge plus in my books. :3

    JKT48 debut (Heavy Rotation-Indonesian Version):
    [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0v1X7cra6zQ[/yt]

    Energetic.
    Looks like the centre's Cleopatra.

Sadly, the cameraman didn't pan to the sides enough for me to see Ghaida. But I'm sure she's in.
Bytheway, on Twitter, Ghaida's being called Ghasyapon/Gasyapon and she's fine with it. How nice. :)

    Keep it up JKT48!

    They sound good~ =)

Indonesian naturally sounds "heavier" than Japanese. (No pun intended... lol)

Reminds me a little of French for some reason...

I liked it!, its really odd for someone who has heard heavy rotation in japanese loads of times.
I liked their outfits, they are very japanese, I like they are making very good the concept of an idol IMO.
Could someone translate what are they saying of AKB48 at the end????

off topic: this is my 100 post! [clap] [party] :^O^:

What's the translation from Japanese to Indonesian like? Did they just do a straight translation or has it been changed to make it sound better when sung? (I don't really like the English versions of their songs because it doesn't flow as well as the Japanese...)

Lyrics to the Indonesian version with English translation of some of the lines:

In comparison, here's the English translation of the Japnese lyrics (taken from studio48):
Not that different, I think. :)

Bytheway, upon additional viewing, I think JKT48's centre in Heavy Rotation isn't Cleopatra. But rather, I think it's Melody.

These girls are quite qt. I don't mind them

Though aki-p seems to not be able to juggle all these groups along with AKB. This is frustrating lol.

the centre is Mellody and the one on Mariko's position is Cleopatra. Rena is on Kojiharu's, I believe. and Dhike is somewhere among Chiyuu's position.

there still no notification from official bout who wrote the lyrics and they gonna release Aitakatta beside Hebirote PV, btw. | @akbjournal

there is one funny story from what i read in one of their fan's pages, is when Gasyapon asked by the MC at the M & G event yesterday. what is her criteria for her ideal guy? and she answered, "he should be able to turn into a kamen rider!" and she once said that she is a fujoshi [hehe]

    I don't really follow JKT48.

    But please answer this question.

Since Indonesia is a predominantly Muslim nation. Does the general public accept them?

I've read articles about fundamentalist Muslim group especially those from Pakistan and Indonesia and other other Islamic nation. I'm especially worried about public opinion in a religious nation.

Well, a lot of the bigger cities in Indonesia are rather pluralistic with palpable western influence. This means that what you see in the JKT48 Pocari Sweat commercial is commonplace in some beaches, but such is rarely seen on TV AFAIK.

Scantily or bikini clad women are definite no-nos on TV and whatnot. So a Heavy Rotation PV with lingerie and catty behaviour is out of the question.

That being said, JKT48 is fine. Their seifuku is modest enough to not stir anything. And their overall performance is energetic. Not sensitive at all to the religious majority.
