Those with even a passing interest in Japanese fashion might be interested to know that CanCam is celebrating its 30th birthday. Neojaponisme (whom you may know from the articles about the Japanese entertainment industry I've linked in the past) have written a comparison of the 1st issue in 1982 compared to today, for a nice little example of how Japanese fashion (or at least the magazine) has changed with the times...

Re: THE STAGE48 post dump! went to the library today(since i have nothing to do now, wishing i had a job ) and someone asked me for relationship advice. I had no idea what to tell him(kind of a friend wanting to hang out instead of dating kind of thing), so I just told him what I could think of it. Then a couple of kids, one sister trashing a jigsaw puzzle while me and a little brother was putting it together. good thing i told that little girl off for bullying her little brother and messing up the puzzle.

Re: THE STAGE48 post dump! So who's watching Kouhaku today? To me, it's been a tradition for many years. The year doesn't end without it. This year, like the last two, I'll be watching it at a bar in town and do the countdown afterwards. We'll visit the shrine at about 2 to climb the mountain and see the first sunrise. There's gonna be a lot of stands selling warm sake, oden and other things to keep you warm. It's a regular matsuri every year. [party]
Re: THE STAGE48 post dump! Oh, yeah...totally forgot about actually watching the program live. As much as I'd love to see the whole thing, I kinda need to sleep. Especially when I live in the U.S. with a significant time difference between here and there. Maybe I'll just catch the highlights of the show sometime later on via YouTube or some other site.
Re: THE STAGE48 post dump! Of course I'll be Kouhaku-ing and CDTV-ing this year... been doing it forever. Even used to catch Kouhaku back in middle school and high school back in Hawaii. I'm not much of a hatsunode person... just going to visit the in-laws and hope not to become too drunk. Too much food coming up tomorrow. I also skipped my workouts for the past two days (my bunny was sick), so I'm worried about putting on weight.

Re: THE STAGE48 post dump! Believe me, we're gonna drink a few. After all we're watching it at a bar / izakaya. And Kouhaku runs for four hours. Still, I'm the last person to act like a retard when drunk. Takes a lot for people even to notice that I had some. But I guess by 3-4 tomorrow morning...
