She looked so calm and relieved after the announcement of second place and just before the announcement of her victory. She looked beautiful at this moment

I also loved that she thanked in all languages​​! When she said "Obrigado" (thank you in Portuguese) I was so happy and thrilled, she spoke in a way so cute

QUEEN YUKO BACK IN HER RIGHTFUL POSITION!

Words cannot describe how im feeling,i was a bit worried for yuko and noticing from the live stream at the beginning she looked a bit worried,and who wouldn't but im so happy for her for working so hard for all akb and for standing tall during the huge akb change (acchan's graduation) despite all of that,i think she's a wonderful sempai for the rest of the younger girls,and even though she is not one of the youngest members anymore,i'm glad the fans are supporting her it's so wonderful to see so much support for this lovely squirrel.I actually manged to get my manatsu copy 2 days prior to the deadline,so of course i casted my vote for yuko,i hope she sticks around akb for a while longer

That's awesome. Great job!!! That will never happen with my parents, though my dad just came in my room the other day and looked at some figures on my shelf. He said he's never seen them before (but I've had them for about a year now). At least he's trying I guess.

So happy for Yuko. Every time i see her she reminds me as to why she is my Oshi. Such a amazing woman. Congrats to her and i look forward to seeing her in the next single. Hope the boss has something great planned. Maybe he will bring that lady back who did the heavy rotation video. lol.

Oshima Yuko thanks her fans for voting her 1st in AKB48’s 4th General Election

In a widely-publicized event anticipated by AKB48 with fans all over the globe streaming live, AKB48 member Oshima Yuko placed first in the group’s fourth general elections.

The new center for the group’s upcoming twenty-seventh single (which will be released on August 29th) as well as AKB48’s ‘new ace’ with the graduation of Maeda Atsuko, gave two speeches to thank her fans, one on stage during the election and another following the election.

And because you all have watered me and shone on me with a light like the sun, my flower is blooming. But the flower will someday wither away. Please always be there for me like the sun so that it doesn’t die. I really wanted to see this scenery again, so thank you so much. And also, Acchan, since you’re doing your best to open up the path for [all of us], I feel like I have to be the foundation of the path you opened at this rank. When I hear the comments from the other members, I feel as if they all have high ambitions. ‘If that’s the case, I still have more and more I can do,’ is what they [make me] think. I feel like, at this rank, I’ve been told, “I’m going to rely on Oshima Yuko.” AKB48 and the 48 groups are used to working hard, so let us do our best more and more so. < After the election >

Good evening. I’m Oshima Yuko, of AKB48.

In this senbatsu election, you all made me first place. Thank you so much. It’s something that makes me nervous every single time, and it’s an event that makes me not know what to do. However when I attended today, I felt relaxed.

At handshake events and such, fans tell me, “It’s okay, please believe us[fans],” so on the big day I waited for the votes to be tallied feeling at ease.

People have been calling it a change of generations, but it felt really good hearing Shinoda Mariko saying, “Come on [to get to my rank]” to the younger generation. I feel that I want the younger generation to grow up too, and also, I don’t want to lose. I think that I’d like to see the younger generation break through my first place rank, so I will accomplish this task[position] as the wall referred to as ‘first place’.

When I was made first place for the song ‘Heavy Rotation’, it gave me the chance to be known by everyone from children to the elderly. I have absolutely no idea what kind of song the next one will end up being or how all of you will feel about it. But, I’d like to sing with everyone who’s become senbatsu members while believing in myself and with my own individuality at full-blast because you all have shown me what I’ve done so far, so I’d be happy if you liked it.

Today when Acchan (Maeda Atsuko) ran out on stage and congratulated me from the bottom of her heart, I was so so happy. Up until yesterday I was incredibly scared and felt really nervous, but then I thought that Acchan probably felt that way too. Only Acchan knows, since she’s stood at this rank before. It’s something I’ve never tasted myself. I felt that way for these past two or three days.

AKB48 is an amateur idol group whose members don’t know their own rank or where they’ll be heading, but for this reason, I’d like for us to treasure the fact that we have a unifying power and go on doing our best.

Lastly, I’d like to express a sincere, grateful ‘thank you’ to each country since there are people watching all across the world. Thank you. Je t’aime. After this we will all be chasing our dream, so we’ll be pressing on and trying hard. And of course, please cheer us on warmly.
