What kind of songs do fans vote? They vote because that song is really good, or just because that song attached with some kind of memories/ milestone???

 

Most vote to support their favorite girl/group. Sometimes votes are collected for a song that has a special meaning, like Team B's Shonichi in one of the first RH. Team 4 won last year because there are a lot of Team 4 fans who want to show their support for the new/underdog group. That's also why you see a lot of notable solos in the top 30. Votes tend to be concentrated on songs that single the girls out or a girl's "signature" song, like Takamina's Itoshisa no Accel or Yuuko's Nakinagara Hohoende. For groups that don't have their own stages like HKT, it turns into more of a "group vote" - Kireigoto demo iin ja nai ka?, a B side sung by HKT KKS, placed really high despite being a relatively unknown song last year because of that phenomenon.

I'm afraid to say that (I make an educated assumption here) people tend not to vote for a song just because they like it. I think there are definitely a few that are voted that way, for example Heavy Rotation or Koi suru Fortune Cookie, some of the big group A-sides that have a lot of exposure and don't really focus on one girl. But if you have an oshimen you naturally want to give her the most support you can, so if there is a song that singles her out (such as a solo), it makes the most sense to vote for that. How much you like the song doesn't come into play nearly as much as how likely it is to rank and give your oshimen a good position.

@rka i have suggestion, since this year RH contains all 48g songs and you already make an awesome spreadsheet about that, why don't you add the songs ranks in all RH in the past six years?
so that we know which song can actually maintain it position or popular only in that year
and it can become our Request Hour Masterlist maybe xp

Haha now I am finally salty about the list. Junjou 19 was the first NMB song I heard and made me start paying attention to them.

I wonder if them releasing the list like this will make more people start voting for more nostalgic songs?

Ikiru Koto and Dessan ranked in the top 600, huh.. Those were the two songs that I wanted to see performed. Oh well.

Aoi Tsuki ga Miteru Kara ranking came in as a big shock. Think everyone focused their votes on the unit songs/KokoTen/Hajimete no Hoshi etc instead.

Flower.. thought it'll definitely be in the top 200 for sure.

 

I don't think 7th chord was an option?? It was released after she graduated.

Yes, only songs AKS has rights to will be used in RH - so no Time machine nante iranai/Seventh Chord, none of Erepyon's stuff, no new Tomochin songs, etc. I have high hopes for Kimi wa boku da, though. I think people liked that one a lot more than Flower, and it's gotten more exposure than Flower recently too.

This is really exciting, although I doubt any of them besides Runner made top 200, it's still amazing that I'm sure and Kazue's song made it so high, top 500 is amazing for someone like her. I wonder if Natsuaki or Kohara/Misamisa or maybe even Ito/Misamisa will perform I'm Sure. Or maybe both of the first two pairs!!
