Before you ask, no, you probably won't be seeing 30+ women joining the main teams permanently or anything. It's nothing like that. It's just a temporary thing. So far it just seems like another "media-worthy event" like the whole Toyota "Idols that come to meet you" event.

Welp, just when you thought they were gonna stop pumping out crazy ideas.

More gimmicks for AKB48, great. SDN was fun, why can't we have a group like that again?

 

Well yeah, it's pretty much just a gimmick.

But- eh, I don't really mind this one. It's not something that totally messes up the current teams like certain recent events (all recent events?), and this one's really just for fun it seems, kinda like Aimi Eguchi or the Detective AKB things.

It sounds like one of the more interesting promotional gimmicks, at least. I hope that group of mothers who performed GM5 during that AKBingo competition enter! If this were going to be an actual group I'd be secretly hoping for the members of Melon Kinenbi to audition.

Glico has had many different campaigns with AKB48~ They have really good PR ideas: Aisu no Mi (Aimi Eguchi) and the Acchan murder detective stories. Looking forward to the fun they come up with for this one.

 

Well this doesn't seem that bad. They're looking for just one woman and for just a limited period of time and, anyway, it's not anything new, since there has been SDN and OJS. It won't affect the AKB teams/members so I don't care Just don't pull any more ideas of draft members please!

Hoping the chick they pick is a mom. Just so the kid or kids can become popular at the school they go to.

Oh good. AKB just doesn't have enough members, so thank God they're adding more (even if it's only temporary).

But really... is there a huge demand for middle aged idols?

 

Wakatabe Haruka may not be a particularly popular member but her mother was an idol in Fukuoka when she was younger (and is still a tv presenter there)

I'm positive there are at least some people who are interested in middle aged women. "Cougar chasers" are a thing, after all

This looks interesting. But as for all the "making middle aged women idols" things, I'd rather see a new SDN group than just a gimmicky CM. I suppose it'll never happen though

 

speaking of OJS i wish they would make another release, their first single was good. maybe even a stage? they could collab with this otona project.

And geez, what is this, 2chan? 30 is not "middle-aged". We've got 48 members who are just a few years shy of being eligible for this, let's not put push them into a nursing home just yet!

 

If anyone on s48 can actually apply, then they should totally do it. It'd be awesome if the winner was part of the international fandom.
