Event / Concert 4th AKB48 groups singing contest

Say what you want with Naachan, but seeing this is proof for me that Naachan was doing all she can to boost STU morale and push them to train harder.

I remember back in the audition for No Way Man center, STU members were all doing great, actually that was how I discovered Miyuna and other STU members and started following them.

I may have to listen to it again, but I felt like NMB was stronger than STU. and the few from SKE should be higher

 

I only watched NMB and I kinda liked Koharu and Fuuwa. Especially the former one looked really good and believable performing her song, was a nice performance all around.

I watched the first day of prelims, my opinions:

NGT48 - I like Ando Chikana's singing, she has a nice voice and it's very clear. I think she was mentioned by the jury and she received some praises, but she didn't make it to the top 20 sadly ;w; The only one who made it to the finals in NGT is Mimura Hino, I can see why they picked her because she has better technique, but personally I'm not a fan of her audition.

SKE48 - Hm I guess the one I like the best is Nao and she's also the only one who made it to the finals in SKE, she did well in her audition, I like the song (Everything). I like her singing now better than some years ago, I remember when they did a singing competition in AKBINGO! years ago and she was praised a lot but I didn't like her singing back then, because it had too much breathing LOL but now she's better and there's less breathing, she did well!

NMB48 - Overall they did well, I'm kinda sad for Anju and for Aika because they have nice voices and I think both of them could have done much better, their song choices weren't good. Amiru and Siyeon did well, I don't always like Amiru's singing but here I liked it, maybe it's the song choice. For Siyeon, the first time that I heard her singing was back when she joined, I thought that she's just ok, but she got better and here she did very well, I like her performance! also Fuwarin did well, she has a nice voice (and she's so pretty). I noticed that 5/8 of the NMB candidates are KKS and 6/8 are from 7th gen o_o I wish more members from the group participated ;w;

STU48 - I like that they have a lot of members participating because it shows their motivation, at the same time it was really long to watch XD I like the performance of Hyodo Aoi, even though her voice was shaking a little sometimes, but she has a nice voice. Honoka did well! and I noticed Kudo Riko is cute (I think the jury liked her too haha). For Ikeda Yura, actually I didn't especially like her performance or her voice, she's a good singer though. I also didn't really like Shimizu Sara's audition, she's a good singer, but I feel like she was doing too much with the pronounciation of words. Kojima Aiko also made it to the finals, her audition was nice. For Imamura Mitsuki (also in the finals), actually I didn't think her singing is great but she performed with energy, smile and confidence and I think it made the difference... A lot of girls look nervous and not confident and it makes them seem worse, the way Mitsuki performed was nice to watch so even though her singing wasn't "wow" but as a whole she made it look good, I think this is why the jury picked her for the finals.

That's it! I'm going to watch the 2nd day of prelims probably one of these days and I'll comment about it ^^

Still kinda mind blown that Naachan picked a song from my favourite solo singer for the final round, a handful have sang her other songs in past qualifiers and kinda screwed them up. Was initially just watching to enjoy the show, but I had to root for her the moment the title was announced. Very happy she won with that song.

I mean that's an easy and glib conclusion to come to but she has come third on 2 of the previous competitions and she's a legit good singer. So I think its entirely feasible for her to get training and improve in a year.

I'm happy she finally won the competition. Her singing improved a lot in the last years

 

After watching the performances Shimizu Sara was completely robbed. She was by far the best, she was unbelievable. Never heard of her before today but now I’m def a fan.

Ikeda Yura completely screwed herself over by not choosing a song that could show off her range.
