So yuna have more viewers than Yan and Seira tho Why does she have an aura of low popularity member?
Does she have more casual fans than loyal ones?

Don't know about the aura. Yuna and Mio in particular are two members who don't get shown talking a lot on TV (at least comfortably) which is the complete opposite when in showrooms.

If the showroom gifts are somehow a measure of 'loyalty' then the source has that data tracked too. Unfortunately I haven't tallied that yet.

Yuna's SR's have been quite enjoyable so far, so maybe that helps.

But these girls need to be on their comfort zone and shine more on these other situations and not when they're just alone on showroom.
If you wanna make it in the entertainment industry you need to prove your talents, your talkative and interesting personality, the ability to talk with different MCs on tv shows and say the right things, promote your things in a good way.
That's what really makes the difference, if you're good just on "one to one" interactions, the margins to shine on the showbiz industry are really bad. Especially on japanese tv which is dominated by variety shows. Nobody wants to invite a girl who when is on these situations the best she can do is to put on a forced smile.

How does someone spend 5 years registered on an idol forum without realizing there's more to the idol industry than TV variety appearances?

That's true - for those members who want to go down that path. No member has particularly go out on record to say they want to make it in the entertainment industry (yet). Even the most popular Kaki doesn't, she wants to be an animator.

But Japanese TV is dominated by variety shows? Are you sure? What channel are you watching and what times?

It's one of the examples of making it in the entertainment industry, other ways to succeed is on being an actress, a model, a youtuber... in whatever you look at for, if you can be good and shine just when you do showrooms alone, you'll forever stay on the corner while others succeed. If her top ambition is to have a good amount of old otaku who interact with her on showoom or come to have an HS with her, then she's fine and doesn't need to improve. But the truth is that she's the one from original 4ki that made the weakest progress since debut, even less popular HS girls had their way to shine more (Yakubo in skits and Kitagawa in Koujichuu and on being invited on some tv shows).

Not really "dominated" by variety shows but there's lot of tv shows on which having the ability to afford these situations makes the difference.
That's how Sashihara became the most popular and succesful 48group member. Thanks to her personality and the ability on being on these kind of tv shows. She's perfect for that and handle it very well and is now a prominent presence on japanese tv.

You should consider that not everyone wants to become an idol to be a variety entertainer on TV and management companies don't recruit members exclusively for that purpose

and that's a huge mistake. Let the girls who can be good just at getting the interest of idols otaku to other groups. Nogizaka built an image of talented girls who can shine on different aspects: being magazine models, succesful movie, theater or musical actresses, girls really good at variety or comfortable and talented on tv shows... that's how you can get the general public attention, the female fans and the normal people and mantain the prestige of Nogizaka as a national idol group and not a thing just for old otaku that alienates the GP. So shame to management if they're starting to be weak on those things that made Nogizaka so good and prestigious.

The core of the idol business is and always was to recruit ordinary girls who are then trained into becoming celebrities with varying degrees of individual success
You don't even know that much, let alone what "Nogizaka" represents

But Nogizaka became succesful cause it wasn't the ordinary idol group. Think about it, most of people jumped from AKB to Nogizaka cause there was a higher quality by that time: good songs, top tier beautiful and succesful girls, a really fun show that helped a lot to establish them and their personalities, being an idol group capable to attire more female fans than the AKB ones thanks to its magazine model girls... if you are gonna miss all these things, and you are since Nogi songs recently are kinda tragic, the top girls are graduating, the high standart beauty is getting lower, and the image is changing from talentend elegant ojousama to next door childish average girls who you can find in 100 other idol groups, you're just gonna collapse.
And that's what is happening. You can see how from 2019 it started the decay for this group and it's becoming just worse since time will pass and there is a strong competition from 46 sister groups. Hinata is literally blowing and is similar more and more to what Nogi's golder age used to be. And Keya's rebrand seems even more problematic since they have now more quality members with new gens and they wanna surpass their "emo" image.
