lol, i don't follow H!P much anymore but they also have their lottery handshake events... as well as lottery poster events, mini-lives where you have to buy a CD to get in. they even put gimmicks on rekochoku, download and have a chance at winning a signed poster.
so they have more then their fair share of gimmicks, and they still don't sell that well

^ The handshake events are done by a lottery, I think, so not everyone that buys a copy gets to go, unlike AKB (every single has a ticket, right? I never pay attention to these things. XD). If H!P had a handshake ticket in each copy, they'd probably sell a lot more. Not to mention they still have Single Vs, so if they switched to CD + DVDs like EVERY OTHER ARTIST OUT THERE, that'd probably help a lot, too.

I agree 100% Naomi. I feel so bad for H!P because their management is so screwed up. They really need to change but they are too stubborn- taking MoMusu.'s popularity for granted... It might have worked in 2000 but not now. They need to change and they refuse to do so (and if they do make a change, they are way too slow and already behind other groups on the scene).

But with Single V's- they count toward DVD sales, not CD sales.

I still love H!P very much and it hurts to see them so poorly managed...

^^ thats why it may pad the numbers even more for H!P. since alot of H!P fans are the wota types who can't control themselves. they'll just resort to buying a crapload more copies to make sure they have a chance at winning.

That's why they should do it. :hehe: I'm sure AKB has wota like that as well, not just H!P.

I think they're starting to make some changes. Granted, they still have Single Vs and no handshake events in each CD, but with the 9th gen's arrival and Kikka being on a non-UFA label, I have hope for H!P this year. I don't think they'll sell millions of copies, but I think they'll sell more than they did last year.

Plus AKB likes to promote way past the release date of a single, while H!P usually stops shortly after so that's why they only chart for three weeks. =/

    ---

    To be more on-topic, yay again for selling a million. xD I remember last year, people were saying that AKB would sell a million, and I laughed, thinking they'd never do it, and now they're selling a million in three weeks. I'm so proud. ;_;

Sorry to get to OT as well, but I agree Naomi. H!P is making a lot of positive changes this year, esp. with the new 9th Gen, so I am really looking forward to the future.

Again, sorry to get so OT... I just really love talking about H!P... I won't post anymore about them here...

every time after a long and stressful day at school..if i were to come home, close my eyes, put my head down on the table, and listen to the chorus of the song.... it feels like, there is someone putting their hands on my shoulders and telling me that everything will be okay and that they will be here to support me.

I don't know if this feeling have gotten to anyone yet, but i just felt like i should put this out there :D

^I agree, I feel the same.

Sometimes I just need to sing it in my head when I'm stressed, and I feel better.

Somehow it makes me happy to read when fans have this type of stories to tell about songs or anything <3 But yeah, idols and their songs help me keep on going from day to day. And Sakuki is one of the best songs ever.

How much the current sales are btw?

^^^ I felt same too. This song make me feel calm. A lot of AKB had some feeling in it. Yuuhi wo Miteiruka make me feel more confidence. Heavy Rotation make me energetic.

Whoa...Maximum the Hormone? I'm quite surprised by it, but maybe they got #1 because the others (mainly the ones from the major labels) have decided to delay; it's still good for AKB48 to continue its good strength, especially when it's sakura season already!

Is there an english-subbed video of the full pv of Sakura no Ki ?

I found a video on veoh but it doesn't work.

I'd like to understand all the story.

Yeah, but it's not the full version on SUB48.

I'd like to understand what they say before the song starts
