Requires less money and effort than producing a new single and the idols are provided with "work". [hehe]

Somehow I expected the full song.
I wonder how they would have handle the circle formation in the 2nd verse ?

Thank you for the video, I saw the original one and I was wondering why the new one is considered better?
The original was 1080p60fps and the new one is blurry.

[This video contains content from TV Asahi Corporation, who has blocked it on copyright grounds.]

    Also it seems
    Yokoyui position > Naru
    Yuihan position > Odaeri
    Naru's original position > Manaka

Props to Naru and Odaeri for re-learning a lot of positions.

yeah same, shame it's not the full one.
They could've made 2 circles with AKB inside and students outside, or just one big circle. Would've looked great with the overhead camera.

Also that single boy in the dance club is the real winner, he was easily recognizable in the MV, practice video, and now here :^^;:

The one I posted had no thumbnail at the time and I was concerned it was from an unreliable source. Yes that one is better and I've edited my post but I've left up the other one as it's from a channel which is usually reliable, but who knows! The BiliBili one I linked to is much more likely to stay up and it's a longer video - it begins with Serious Flavor being told about their appearance on MSte and ends with Naachan talking to the MC.

Meh, too much camera time and unnecessary close up shots for the high school kids. Like, half of the senbatsu members don't even get a close up for fuck sake. And they're distracting :wall:

This is a pretty bad take considering:

    1. Your actually bad mouthing high schoolers (I mean, wow)

    and

    2. This is the kind of performance that would have looked great on Kohaku.

This is a pretty "bad take" considering nothing in that post is "bad mouthing" the high school kids, only the video editors and camera work. It is absolutely true that half the senbatsu members don't get a single closeup shot, and that is in part because half the time is spent panning over the high school dance team. This would have been less of a problem if it had been the full version of the song.

I'm sure this was a great experience for the dance students and their families will no doubt treasure this moment and this footage for years to come. But as a fan it's disappointing that I didn't get a single clear frame of my oshi out of the entire dance segment (was one in the talk segment, thankfully, at least for Megu).

Its ok not to like it when non-group members get some screen time in a 48G performance or PV when a good number of members barely get some.

And personally, I really do not like how involve these high school kids with the nemoha promotion. We got a pretty meh PV.. this feels like the wasted potential for a good negaimo PV years ago when they chose to feature the primary school that was closing down.

Before anyone gives a remark about me being a horrible person, look, I'm just pointing what fans really feel specially those who support underpushed members.

Of course I understand its a big deal for the high school kids and all the other regular people who got opportunities like this.

I'm not going to hate on them or anything.

I just do not like how things like this affect how AKB performances or PVs turn out.

AKB's concept is "girls you can meet" and if you've read any interviews with any member of AKB over the last year or so, they've been saying how they felt like they lost their identity a bit what with not with interacting with others. Their conversations usually revolved around not being able to meet fans, but I also think they've always been pretty big on engaging with schools and (to some degree) charities for their songs. Think back to Negaigoto no Mochigusare and the obvious one with Dareka no Tame ni.

I agree the MV was poor but actually the dance scenes were the best part... and they've performed with Mie High School... twice? Out of the dozen times they've performed this song over the past 3 months.

I can see where you guys are coming from but I don't think it's a massive deal and actually part of their brand.

Also, people in Japan have been saying how much they loved the music video, even if we hated it. I'm sure they also enjoy this heart-warming vibe of dancing together with a group of energetic students. And if we earn new fans for the whole group, we'll also earn new fans for underrated members, I'm sure :)

I liked that aspect of the MV too, as well as some others. Just found the interview in the middle of the song jarring, and was disappointed that a few senbatsu members got no real screentime. It's funny how much better B-side MVs usually are in that respect, while this is almost always a complaint about the A-side.

I understand its important. And agree, if it helps the group get more fans, then that's a win.

Still don't have to like it if I were a fan of member who barely gets screentime.

    ***

And darn, that loooong cut for the interview, lol.

    ***

Did people here in Japan really enjoyed the music video? I mean I guess Nemoha has made some splash, interest-wise, compared to other AKB releases in recent years; I just didn't really have the impression that people were talking specifically about the PV though. The dance maybe..
