I don't think the NHK will ever say this directly if it is the real cause.

The journalist just gives his own opinion in the last part, when he asks the public relation office if it is true that the program ends in march, he is answered with the 03/24.
Then he states that it is convenient for the management.

 

Last year there were too many recap programs (AKB48 Show! Remix).
The program budget was clearly reduced long time ago.

there's an ending if there's a beginning. there's a departure if there's an encounter.
someday 48g is gonna go too...

 

NHK World's weekly music show 'J-Melo' also seems to be suffering from budget cuts. Most broadcasts are repeats and when they do have a new edition it's nearly all talk.

 

NHK World changed how they do repeats. Previously they would mostly send new episodes starting each April. As the year went on more and more repeats would be mixed in, until by the end of the fiscal year you would only get repeats. They changed that system ~1.5 years ago to something like 2 new episodes followed by 2 reruns a month. Same with imagine-nation and a few other programs.

 

I hope there will be another program that has a full song performance of 48 Groups to replace this program in the near future. I really regret this program.

- Full song performance
- Sometimes they will show songs that are not likely to be seen.
- I really love the sound edit version of this program. It sounds natural and doesn't sound like lip sync.
- Light effect is very beautiful.
- Camera work is amazing. Almost every member will always have at least one close up shot.
