Fingers crossed that it is a rebranding of the show rather than an ending. Though I'm not filled with massive hope.

On the announcement tweet they had a hashtag #番組終了じゃなくてあくまで休止 (#Not the end of the programme, just a hiatus.) I suspect it is just for comfort rather than any confirmation but I'll take it nevertheless.

I'm sad Bacchikoui is ending as without it I don't know if I'd be as big a fan of Berin or the other Team 8 Kanto members.

I think it serves as a good template for how to show off the members personality more. One criticism you can have of the old AKBingo and Sayonara Mouri-san is that even if a member is quite involved they get about 2 or 3 minutes of screen-time at most, which doesn't give most of the members there a chance to express themselves.

 

If Team 8 goes on hiatus the show goes on hiatus as well. If the team returns so will the show. In theory, because in reality they could've simply rebrand the show — I'm sure Chiba TV would love to have it — and still give some screentime to these AKB members. But alas! They're not the AKB members DH loves so much — and the ones they do missed a lot of episodes —, therefore the budget needs to go somewhere else.
