http://www.tokyohive.com/2011/07/akg48- ... -in-tokyo/ "AKG48, a local idol group from the Gunma prefecture with over 100 members. ‘AKG’ stands for ‘A-KA-GI’, the dominant mountain of the prefecture and which also bore the name for the infamous Japanese aircraft carrier. However, it’s obviously not just a coincidence that they share a name quite similar to national idol group AKB48. The local group bluntly hopes that they will become just as successful as AKB48 someday." ----------------- ??
For the Japanese always making fun of Americans for their lack of subtlety, they sure can make some bluntly-named knock-off groups.
ouhWHAT? don't they have another name? AKG should be fine, but adding 48 behind it, eugghhhh.. they should add 100 rather than 48, the members are over 100 right?
^ Yes, there are over 100 members in AKG. Found some AKG clips from YouTube, they're dancing to AKB48's songs; [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Me5TzYufrJ4[/yt] [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rb4aKoxf5j8[/yt] [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yp9_KhNvudw[/yt]
Just checked out the clips, and watched some other You Tube videos(I live on You Tube!) I see them having fun, doing their best, they know all the songs and dances. So for me it's all positive.I support anyone who has a dream, and follows it.I support AKBN0 also.I would love to see some official support for them too. As for the legal side of all this, who knows. We all know AkiP wants to spread the AKB brand, but I guess its with his consent, and some deal of "quality control" What is the tipping point, the point at which a fan based group crosses the line.I guess it's when they start making money themselves. In my ideal world they would get the thumbs up from AkiP,and a visit by some of the girls from AKB48,and a clip on one of the TV shows ^v^
^more appreciate it if they sing their own songs... if not, they will always be seen as AKB-looks-like idol group
^ I don't think they are plagiarizing AKB48... well as of now.. Because they took AKB's naming concept and sang+dance AKB songs, it looks more like a tribute idol group to me.. But some may see them as a copycat of AKB48, but yeah, I'd prefer they leave out the '48' to stop people from misunderstanding [think]
This group still exists and even releases gravure. Exactly: I've found already numerous releases from Naruse Minami. Judging from previews, I'm really confused. They say she is 12yo. Then I look here: http://www.color-g.jp/akg/member_g_naru ... .html#main No year of birth, man, WTF. Why am I suspicious? It looks like she could defeat Yukirin in boob sizes, WASSUP? :nb:
They do look as if they are essentially just a tribute band to be honest. They seem to be having a good time with what they are doing, I suppose if they did some of their own songs and polished up their dancing they'd do relatively well, I'd certainly check back to see if they make any advancement.
They changed there name to Akagidan http://jpop.wikia.com/wiki/Akagidan if the video does not show watch the video here if the video does not show watch the video here if the video does not show watch the video here if the video does not show watch the video here https://m.youtube.com/results?q=Akagidan&sm=3
