NMB has always been managed by Yoshimoto but I guess this just completely removes the AKS connection?
It goes, completely. https://www.oricon.co.jp/news/2136860/full/ It really remind me of old blabbering about NMB has the most readiness to cut ties and pulling SNH independence when the time is right. They just doing it now. ===== edit: The article are not explaining how it will affect their relationship onward though. We may see NMB members still filling AKB single senbatsu. Who knows.
I think its just on paper. They're keeping the 48 name so I think they'll still be 48 group. It probably just means that Yoshimoto gets more money from NMB which might motivate them to get NMB more work.
Interesting for this to happen after Keyholder bought SKE. Hopefully these changes are for the positive.
According to that oricon article, Kyoraku-Yoshimoto Holdings originally owned NMB, but quietly sold ownership to AKS in 2016 (members stayed under Showtitle, however). Now they're buying them back, and doing so publicly for reasons that should be obvious.
The fact that they announce the change this time (instead of just passing it around quietly like last time) makes it kinda PR stunt-y (for obvious reasons), but in reality it's probably not really anything changing. Things will probably stay par the course that's been charted since Showtitle came into existence. (And the good work they've been putting in the last 3-4 years)
"KYORAKU YOSHIMOTO Holdings Co., Ltd. acquired a business related to the idol group NMB 48 managed by AKS on June 1 and announced that it will carry out the company's business from now on. In the past, we have made use of experiences and results that have been commissioned to operate the NMB 48 business, and make use of the content power of Kyoraku Yoshimoto., Collaboration and synergy effects with know-how, and closely with Namba, Osaka and Kansai, activities based in theaters" https://www.musicman-net.com/business/86655 Other stories: https://www.daily.co.jp/gossip/2019/06/04/0012394352.shtml https://www.sankei.com/west/news/190604/wst1906040021-n1.html https://www.nikkansports.com/entertainment/akb48/news/201906040000356.html
Not sure if I'm wrong but I think the point is that NMB has always been managed by Yoshimoto but owned by AKS and now nmb is both managed and owned by Yoshimoto.
That was originally how NMB was setup but sometime in 2016/17, the ownership reverted to AKS while Yoshimoto through Showtitle still managed them. Now, ownership is coming back to Kyoraku Yoshimoto.
NMB was owned by AKS since 2016/2017 sentence made me think about how NMB had become since that year. Less singles, less appearance in music shows, etc. I hope by this NMB will be renewed again. At least I hope they would consider doing Geinin again
