^I sent them an email asking about both bags and cameras a few hours ago, so we'll see what kind of response I get back (if any).

One thing to mention, most of the time the event staff falls back on the rules for US artists/performers (many of which allow cameras and video). They may not be aware that it's very different for Japanese artists (not been to a concert yet that allowed cameras), until shortly before the performance begins.

This happened at both the Flow and Dreams Come True performances I went to last year. We were told by the staff that photos and video were no problem while we were being seated, then right before the concert they announced that you could not take photos or video and anyone doing so would be escorted out. At least for B'z we were told way in advance (and even had signs posted about it)

I believe the user agreement when you accept your tickets online states that cameras are not allowed. At the AKB48 show in NYC, they never mentioned cameras and people were shooting away for the whole show. I've been to shows in the US that are very strict about bags and cameras and other ones that totally don't care. In Japan, however, they are super strict at every idol concert I've gone to, searching bags and patting down jackets at some.

During the announcement before the show (Acchan/Sayanee) they did say "no cameras with flash".

Different venues have their own policy on that, though.. let's see how they reply to Luigi's inquiry.

Can someone tell me how the bus works from NYC to DC?

I'm thinking if I skip my morning class too I can get an early bus, since the train would cost me at least $160... =/

The bus seems cheaper but I don't know how it works...

Or if someone can drive me that morning/early afternoon AND drive me back the next day to arrive back in NYC by 11 AM... >.<

Or if anyone knows an easy way to get there and back that's about $60 or so (at most) both ways... That'd be appreciated. I didn't realize the train was soooo expensive...!! I could only find the cheapest train to be $80 EACH way. =/

Please if someone knows the specifics to the buses, costs, and how to get tickets, let me know please!!!

Again, I'd be leaving sometime in the morning or early afternoon that day from NYC. (My school is FIT, it's literally just about 5 or so blocks from Penn Station so that'd be very easy for me but I can travel from anywhere in Manhattan.) I need to get back sometime before 11AM the next day, which is when my next class is. Really, anyone at all who can help with specifics please please please tell me. =)

i brought my bus ticket from https://www.boltbus.com/ and the round trip from NYC to DC is about $37.
there are several pickup spot in NYC and i picked 42nd street Port Authority Gate 84 and they will drop off at Union station at DC. Make sure to buy ticket online because i dont think they sell ticket there.

unfortunately their early bus leave at 11:30 am and arrive at 3:45 pm on 27th. so boltbus might not work for u.

but peterpan seems to offer more bus between 7 am to 10 am.

    http://www.peterpanbus.com/

    round trip is $34

^People who are "double dipping" are those who are attending both the 4 and 7:30 shows.

Also, I'll be attending both of the shows. Does anyone have predictions of how badly people will fight for merchandise, if there is any? I wanted to buy something for my friend, but I really don't want to die in the process. ww

As a "double dipper" myself I look at it this way.

I am getting to see AKB48 two times for free. I'm not going to complain about being at the back of the line for the 2nd show, especially since that will give people who couldn't go to the first one a chance at a better seat.

Personally, I think people who cut in line or try to hold spots for their pals should be sent to the very back.

Hmmmm don't know about that. During the first few AKB48 concerts in Singapore where we had to queue, those people who attended the first concert would just have to queue at the back. But it did get confusing and some people managed to slip into the queue. Since then, now in Singapore concerts we draw ballz.

For those going to the concert, this might be helpful.

I was told by some indo friends that the indo wotas studied the MIXes before the akb48 concert there lol.

Did anybody miss out on getting tickets?

PM me, or contact me if you're confirmed that you're going but you missed out on a ticket.

PS: I just want to "know" who missed out on getting a ticket, and who really wanted to go. No implications there. ;)

So semi-good news; I finally received money ($160) today and will try to deposit it tomorrow so I can order my bus tickets to and from. Wish me luck!

Hmm it looks like I could take Peterpan there, but the schedule does not work going back, since I have to be back by 11AM.

Boltbus could be an option for coming home though...

I really would like to not travel alone though... I have never done this before and don't really know how these buses work, I'd hate to miss it by accident. >.<

Is anyone else perhaps going on the 27th and leaving early in the morning on the 28th and lives in NYC or at least travelling from there? =/ (Also we might need a taxi to and from the station and theater... Splitting a fare for that would be helpful.)

Oh and I have absolutely no idea what the hell I'm gonna do that night... XD I mean I'll have no hotel (not that I could pay for one anyway... lol) and I'll probably get no sleep. LOL

    But I guess there probably are some 24 hour places... There's gotta be somewhere to go. LOL (A hotel lobby? XD People do camp out in hotel lobbies sometimes... =P) But maybe that's not a great idea... ^^;

It's just that it's so complicated... =/ Booking a trip and making sure I get there and back safely and on time, making sure I get to the right places...

Also there is the problem of getting the tickets for the buses in the first place - I can't use my debit card because I've had some problems with it...

If the bus fair is about $40 for both ways, plus taxi fares and a few meals, I can afford it but I just can't buy the tickets by card... >.< Another reason a travel buddy would be cool, if they could get my ticket and I pay them back in cash, or just pay the taxi rides or something... >.< I dunno. If you want to travel with me that'd be great. I'm 18 female but I don't care how old you are or if you're a girl or guy or whatever. But I'm basically screwed if I can't get a bus ticket, so... =/

I hope it won't be too difficult to get my hands on some merch as I have very little fan stuff outside of posters, books, and cd's. Would really like to get my hands on a shirt to wear for the 2nd concert as I have none for the first one.
