Single fairy w!nk's 1st (Tenshi wa Doko ni Iru?) (17/12/13)

The Type A & promotional photo are giving me 80s/90s idol vibes (specifically WINK themselves) and I love it.

 

^ They got them to look and pose just like the duo Wink, that's so good ! I love Showa Idols, yet I had not even noticed, a duo with the word "wink" in it, just like them.

I'm not that much into any of the songs though... Even the main one... I was expecting something more... How would I say it... Sugary ? And even if I like this style in the end, the song still didn't catch my attention.

 

^ I agree. The only one I really felt fit the unit style was KissTen but even that felt a bit bright? Especially for Fairy W!nk I excepted a much more cutesy and upbeat vibe. Nonetheless though I love the music itself but the actual concepts paired with the groups seems off. Kotono is the only one I could see as fitting.

Also, most of this single is leading me to believe my crack theory that AKB is trying to be really artsy so their image is different during the Olympic times.

 

I love all the songs, I see they were inspired by wink themselves so that explains a lot of their concept

The SKE girl's song vaguely reminds me of the song Miyuki got for her single

I'm really glad they got a song that's like they requested. I was worried they'd give them something overly cutesy after they specifically asked for something "cool like zannen shoujo."

 

So I listened to the songs a few more times.

The main song is really good I like it. But surprisingly my favourite if I have to say is the Tempura song XD

i'll add this single on my plan to buy list but december is looking pretty full with NMB,NGT,HKT's album,Mayuyu and also some pbs

 

FuuSae and KissTen is slaying~

Kocchan's vocal sometimes remind me of Milky :'

But, the main song one is... flop (?). Please, they said they want to be smileless idol and I say that they suit it, but, aki-p and mgmt didn't develope them well. Pls, they can do more than it, i expected they're cooler and with more unique song than it. This is just b-side standart and nothing special. Poor our wink couple.

But, fortunately, warota still worse than this. lol.

The Type A cover looks sooo different to everything else somehow ;;

So far I've always seen them as cute, clean, proper and bright and the Type A cover is pretty much the opposite of that haha

But I like the song!

 

Fuusae is the one I like the best~
Concerning the cover well..The idea is good but it seriously remind me too much of those graduations pic you would see in old movies :'D It's quite disturbing

 

I love KissTen's song and video! I was worried it was going to be Rie and backup, but all those Myao vocals!!! The song is so upbeat and everyone is super cute and I love all of them.

I like FuuSae's also. For some reason I misremembered and thought there would be three types of single, so I was a bit down that I wouldn't get FuuSae if I bought KissTen's. But there are only two types and that's great.

I had higher hopes for Kotono's when it started because everything was pretty strong and her voice was nice. The verse felt like it was building up to a more exciting chorus but instead the chorus was on the same level or maybe even less powerful. It was kind of anticlimactic tbh.

Main A-side...I like the song & I kind of want to see it performed by a duo with better singing and dancing. The dance moves for the chorus, while simple, were interesting but these two didn't quite get the unison down. Their voices are all right but something about this song makes me want a little bit more. Still gonna get it.

Edit: I can’t stop listening and Nappi is really cute

Top 10, not bad! Fewer than 30,696 units sold on the first day (possibly substantially fewer, as that's the figure for no. 3), so not a roaring success, but definitely far from a failure. Hope they continue to sell throughout the week.

Edit: Oh, and they ranked higher than a lot of other new releases, so that's great stuff ^^
