    Too many. It seems there's at least one song about one sided love in every single, theater setlist, and album.

    I might do the others later, but damn, rereading some of these lyrics made me remember that I used to love how AKB sung about every topic. Lots of songs in those early stages are about breakups, and there are even date songs. Now every single and B-side is some metaphor for unrequitted love between schoolkids. I'm so old, and the group has changed so much thematically ;_;

    When it comes to Nogi off the top of my head Guruguru curtain, Oide shampoo, kizuitara kataomoi, Baretta, Natsu no free & Easy are unrequited love songs.

    I always thought Kimi no Na wa Kibou wasn't about unrequited love but like, a very special and important person in the singer's life. But I guess I just interpreted it incorrectly (I misunderstood Dear my Teacher's lyrics for the longest time too so it's nothing new for me lol)

    Besides for the obvious "Akimoto is a hack" explanation -- I think these songs are meant to channel some more intense fans emotions. Like "Kimi no Koto ga Suki Dakara" or "Suzukake Nanchara" are all about loving someone while keeping your distance.

    Honestly, the songs are just an extension of the imaginary girlfriend thing they are selling to the fans. It makes sense, but it makes for a hella boring discography lyrics wise. After all, there's only so many ways you can approach the subject before it goes stale. Then again, this is idol pop, so paying attention to the lyrics is unnecessary at best haha.

    @Mimi: I thought that it was a song about a girl telling her boyfriend to sleep with her and because she's not very experienced, he would become her teacher. I realized it was about a girl hitting on her own teacher an embarrasingly long time after first listening to the song and it kind of ruined it for me a bit :/
