Re: THE AKB48 thread! AKB48 stamps cause Japan Post Network homepage to crash by Kanki on November 10, 2011 at 7:27 am We previously reported that Japan Post would begin selling stamp sheets bearing the faces of popular idol group, AKB48. It’s being reported that once they were made available on November 8th, the influx of traffic caused the Japan Post homepage to crash. Fans rushed to the site all at once in order to grab a sheet, as it was the first time that AKB48 stamps were ever produced. Those who were unlucky won’t have to mourn their loss for long, as new sheets will be made upon order. The post office released the following statement in order to relieve some confusion, “You don’t need to use the website (to order the stamps). You can also apply for the stamps at your local post office until January 9, 2012.” Source: Nikkan Sports Mirrored from: Tokyohive EDIT: The video of the stamp release from JIJIPRESS [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qc2cg0YVPb4[/yt] Japan is really crazy about AKB.
Re: THE AKB48 thread! How many members here will be ordering those stamps esp. one of each team? Wonder if the JP postal service will ship overseas or would we have to use FJ to buy them?
Re: THE AKB48 thread! Would it be okay for me to suggest that Japan Post should've upgraded their servers well before they announced these stamps in full anticipation of the hordes of ravenous fans trying to get order online?
Re: THE AKB48 thread! Here's the link for anyone who wants to buy the AKB48 stamps http://www.postal-jp.com/psc/goods/akb4 ... nc_campain Order date: November 8, 2011 - January 9, 2012 Delivery period: February 1, 2012 - March 31, 2012 Each set will set you back 5,700 Yen x 3 (A & K & B) = 17,000 Yen excl delivery and FJ buying service commission fee of 5% 17,000 Yen ~ $226 USD Wallet rape [flip] Wonder how FJ will handle this
