I agree, but single overall and promotion was poor... and for me it's a great song for stage, not for a-side. MV also look poor...

What’s a good starting place (with Eng subs, preferably) to learn about NMB’s current members? Despite already following way too many idols, I feel like finally giving in and checking out NMB. Is there any variety show within the last year or two I could start with? While I know it’s certainly more rewarding when you’re deeply involved in the group’s history, I’d rather focus on the current roster for now as the group is fairly daunting and I simply don’t have the time or motivation for a deep exploration of their past.

I watched the first two episodes of Sports Kingdom with Yayoi, Sakata Misaki, Mako and Yukino which I enjoyed. I’d keep watching but I think that may be all there is, or at least all that’s been subbed. Other than that, the only members for whom I could put a name with their face are Rei and Yuzu. I’m also aware of a different Misaki who is fluent in English but I don’t really know her. Any current members in particular (without grad flags) I should try to learn about? I’m thinking I may try for Yuzu, Rei and Sakata Misaki hanashikai so I could always apply for another member or two as well.

 

I've actually subbed all of it, quite some time ago already, but the subs usually have some, mostly timing, problems (I generate them with Open AI's Whisper then tweak them), so most of them haven't been "published" yet - though the progress in fixing them has been regrettably slow, because no one really wants to do it hehe... Anyway I think it's watchable if you don't mind the timing issues that much + the latest 3 or 4 episodes are almost free of those problems entirely, so if you or anyone else is interested I can put the soft subs here. I really like the show a lot too so the more people can enjoy it the better!

NMB don't currently have one particular big show Sakamichi/AKB style, but there's still a lot of content and just going through all the stuff at https://www.tumblr.com/teppensubteam would probably be a good start, most of it is very recent and featuring various combinations of members, but mostly 7/8/9th gens. (I think it's perfectly fine to focus on the present, since technically half of the current roster joined only in 2022 heh.) If you have any questions feel free to ask more!

there's also this excellent one off show 8th gens did which is a good intro to the girls, sadly no subs, but I think it's rather visual and not too much about some intricate language play + @Mana wrote that excellent summary as always to follow along!

just off the top of my head I'd say the Sports Kingdom members are a pretty good bet, they're definitely gonna be prominent from now on!
